A formally verified electrodynamics simulation (electromagnetic pulse in a metal box), implemented and verified autonomously with Lanyon. ~8500 lines of C, ~15,000 lines of Lean 4 proof, ~156 correctness theorems, ~130 seconds. Solving full Maxwell equations with hyperbolicity-preserving divergence error correction, solved using a LeVeque-style wave propagation scheme with a second-order symmetric reconstruction, in arbitrary numbers of dimensions. Including full proofs of hyperbolicity-preservation, convergence, L^2 stability, etc., down to machine precision. Lanyon derived the equations, devised the algorithm, implemented the numerics, proved the correctness properties, and set up the simulations, all within ~2 minutes. This post is for young men. As a 57 year old guy who has dated a lot of beautiful women over the past 40 years, here are my top 3 tips when it comes to choosing a woman: - The #1 most important quality in a woman is the capacity to let go. Choose a girl you can emotionally reset instantly with a hug, a kiss on the forehead, or sex. Ok, I'll bite. Firstly, that company didn't move from Haskell for their main performance-critical system. Not quite RIP, is it? Secondly, the company moved to Python, not TypeScript or Goylang or whatever. All arguments made are essentially against type systems in general, not Haskell specifically. The bottom line of the post is that type safety isn't worth compilation times in the age of frontier LLMs. I disagree, because LLMs accumulate mistakes over time (not that humans don't) and they do it slower if there's a good source of truth -- and types are a better source of truth than comments and design docs, because they're checked by a trusted tool. That said, I can see how someone who wants to iterate fast and wide decides to dump a compiler in favor of no compiler. But that isn't by any means Haskell-specific.

This is a devastating blow to the doomer LessWrong crowd because it proves that "alignment" is impossible. How could a model, even a super intelligent one, tell the difference between helping an attacker or a defender?
