I’ve often heard it said, primarily in jest, that other denominations feel threatened by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We have a lay ministry that is all voluntary, so if their congregation converts the other churches lose funding. I never quite believed it. You know how many of the people attacking us online have “pastor” in their bio? Most of the ones I have looked at. These people are paid by the donations to their church. These donations should be serving their community, not enriching the preacher.

@ThePathHQ @Luke_ehM We don’t know. But we do know we are created in His image. He is our Father and a He loves all of us, so He send His Son. Because of His Son, we have a path back to our Father. The Son is preparing a place for all of us and He sits on the right hand of the Father.

I'm going to keep asking these questions until I find an intellectually honest Mormon willing to actually describe their beliefs. Where is God originally from and what was his original nature? What is Kolob? Who is the heavenly mother? How many gods and goddesses are in heaven? Can men attain Godhood?

All I will say is that we absolutely do not have and cannot live this way any more. This is not the Italy we haven known and loved for years. Something has to change. Now.

A close friend of mine is cancelling his voter registration today. He is convinced Spencer Pratt was robbed of the election. I explained to him that in California we count absentees first (which skew older and more conservative) and election day voters are younger and more Democratic. The slow count is largely because of policies to maximize participation, including postmarking a ballot on Election Day. Regardless, we need to figure out in California how we can get the vote counted faster and results tabulated so it does not drag on. We should make the investments in operational improvements and resources in the wealthiest state in the nation. It is worth spending the resources to get the vast majority of the vote counted within 48 hours. Right now the system is eroding trust and spawning conspiracy theories.

Without context this would seem very different. As Christians, we must be totally honest. Mormons do worship a Jesus Christ. It's just not the Jesus Christ revealed in the Bible. It is a Jesus Christ that was invented by Joseph Smith and who is not like the one in the Bible. Thus, they are not Biblical Christians.

Joseph Smith claimed that he translated the Book of Mormon from an ancient language called "Reformed Egyptian," and that the Book of Abraham was translated from Egyptian papyri. To this day, there is no proof that "Reformed Egyptian" was ever a language that existed. His "translation" of the Egyptian papyri has also been proven to not match the actual texts...at all. I grew up mormon. I went to seminary and institute. I served as a missionary in Japan. I married my wife in the temple. Never in a 1000 years could I imagine leaving but God had other plans for me. Like Paul, Jesus came and shattered the illusion and made me His.
