Final moments of the China trip. Soon begins the long Internet blackout that is the Pacific Ocean. Not sure if China flagged carriers are allowed to use starlink, but they don't.

Tesla Owners Of San Joaquin Valley
The internet didn't just "appear." It was built by innovators from all over the world including a brilliant engineer named Dr. Philip Emeagwali. His research in massively parallel computing helped shape how data moves, connects, and speeds across networks we use every single day. From Nigeria to global tech halls, his work proved something powerful. History is history

Real-world AI makes all the difference
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

Ashok Elluswamy, VP of AI at @Tesla on self-driving: "It's so obvious you can solve this with cameras. Why wouldn't you solve with cameras? It's 2026. The self-driving problem is not a sensor problem, it's an AI problem. The cameras have enough information already. It's a problem of extracting the information, which is an AI problem." (via @aelluswamy's presentation at the 2026 ScaledML Conference on January 29th)

Not sure how to deal with this, so let me state again that my channel covers engineering and manufacturing. It's not the place for politics. The closest my videos get is when it results in policies that impact EVs to the point they barge their way into my spreadsheets before I can justify addressing it. Every month I get angry cancellations for being too ANTI-Elon, and sometimes, like this long time viewer, too PRO-Elon. The fact that they both happens tells me I'm not toeing anyone's line, but actually thinking for myself. That is not commonly rewarded. I'd make more money if I went hard to one side, but that's not who I am. I'd rather be broke and honest than any sort of fraud. So thank you to those who continue to contribute as a member for the sake of the engineering and manufacturing insights. I'll do my best to ensure those keep coming.
