The Strait of Hormuz is an international strait. Under UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (which Iran has not ratified) all ships & aircraft enjoy freedom of navigation & overflight. No state can suspend this right. Rights are not subject to negotiation & renegotiation.

@husainhaqqani A country harassed and debilitated by sanctions and invasions can remind the world that the Strait includes its territorial waters. The depth is more on the Iranian side.

@AdabOman Upon the sad death of Sultan Qaboos the flag was flown at half mast at Buckingham Palace. A very rare honour for a foreign ruler. Those who know of Oman know of their honour and humility. I am proud to call this country my home.

Here is my proposal. Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz to all shipping. President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary Hegseth resign. All US bases in the Middle East close forever. Iran agrees to abandon regional proxies. The US stops arms shipments to Israel. Iran agrees to not pursue nuclear weapons and allow verification. What do you say?
