I’m not arguing the thesis - but imagine if educators wrote a joint letter on how to run the hospital system. I will correct one comment. For educators, our children have not once been forgotten. They are our raison d’être, especially over the last 2yrs. smh.com.au/national/for-t…

Quick shout out to @kmillerheidke . Is there an orchestral version of Zero Gravity? Cringeworthy I know but my oldest daughter (14) has learned the song & has amazingly (to me) written a 4 part strings version. Pardon the dad moment please!

One of the silver linings of the Covid year is that I’ve had time to write some new songs. Well we’re back in setting up the studio, getting ready for a week of recording. A new album “Flesh and Blood” coming your way before you know it

Went on my first #thewalkingED walk today with my boys. A bit slow with 2 little people, but the hills made it work. Keen to build a habit for physical and mental health 🙌🏻

@LaurenMilburn31 @DrJeck It is a difficult question. I lead a sizeable primary school in Sydney Australia. No masks, no positive cases, back to full attendance, not closed for one day this year, lots of hygiene control - different contexts....

@DrJeck This should be a non-negotiable. In Virginia, we are supposed to wear masks in public places. A school is a public place. I want us to be able to start by having students in person part-time. If masks are not required, I believe any in-person learning will be short-lived.

@Stephen_H What we need is to hear from teachers, not from union leaders, not from politicians. Rational discussion & deliberate, intentional planning - not policy on the run.

Far from it What we need is to bring teachers into the equation with rapid ideas for government that seems only to be resorting to 'as it was' - without considering teacher anxieties, wellness etc in the current context.

Any thoughts on a safe digital tool that can be easily monitored & allows upper primary students the opportunity to connect & chat about life & learning? Other than Zoom....

Why is Zoom the most popular video tool for remote learning? What we DON’T need is a digital version of a normal lesson. We need to let our teachers be creative AND protect our students’ privacy.....

@RachelSaliba2 Sure. I am part of a K to 12 school. I am also father to 3 young girls & trying to finish my doctorate! I have been a school leader for 19 years but I am always looking for new ideas - growth is non-negotiable!

Our primary students are coming up with some great remote learning initiatives. If we let them show the way, they can & will!
