In PR, sales tax is 11.5% but property taxes are tiny. I would prefer this because in tough times I can reduce my spending but have no option when it comes to my home tax

The bank should still fail but depositors should get those bonds in return. This is a way to essentially do that without the depositors having to wait until the bonds to mature

BREAKING: The US Federal Reserve, FDIC and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen have released a statement saying that all depositors at Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, New York, New York (which closed today) will be fully protected and able to access their money on Monday (tomorrow). None of the losses will be the responsibility of taxpayers, so this is NOT a bail out. Additionally, the Federal Reserve Board will make available additional funding to eligible depository institutions to help assure banks have the ability to meet the needs of all their depositors.

Banks like SVB have more assets than liabilities but many of the assets are bonds that don’t mature for years

@kevinolearytv This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Must be a fun life you live. My idea of success is my 15 year marriage, my beautiful kids, my wonderful mother and my pain in the ass dogs. I’m also financially free but I wouldn’t risk the former for the latter.

Of roughly 50 first time meeting requests I had from founders seeking funding the past 10 days, roughly 45 of them did not have a live product or a single customer yet. Many founders don’t realize what evidence you typically need to demonstrate to raise VC at seed stage.
