It was the questionable selection or positioning of players as our number issue against the pies 1. Sharp is an inside mid not a half forward so either play him in the midfield or have him learn in the VFL 2. Even though I not a Gresham fan he should have not been dropped If you wanted a small defensive forward who can kick goals as well it would have to to be Nguyen or Huss is very good in the VFL although I am bit worried about his fitness at this stage. 3. Why on earth did we play Edward’s on the wing his is a creative forward stupidly having him up the field 4. Tsatas has Parish have been playing well in the midfield together why or why would you put Durham in the centre and cut Tsatas time back 5. Robey is a luxury to be in the side he is not ready in a top experience side you can get away with him in the side as long as experience players doing a bit extra 6. Then we have our rucks Neither are up to the consistent standard needed to be competitive ruckman We need to manage Peter time on the ball a lot better he seems to go off the boil or lack the energy to be our number one ruck or see out a game in that position 7. Then their Durham keep him on the forward line and just give the freedom to be free and do what he wants 8. McKay try him in the forward line or on the ball get him to work and run or he can play in the seconds without experience defenders around him he seems lost and timidly There are other issues but that enough

Why did he play Edwards on the wing? Not saying it makes a difference, but he’s been in decent form. Poor coaching again

@essendonfc final point it’s not easy to win big AFL games we all understand this and yes its about continuous improvement Collingwood is not a great side we allowed them again to dictate the game day and the outcome. Critical is the VFL it must be elevated to the highest possible standard for our success it’s the nursery for our future stars and rehabilitation for our seniors who have been dropped back for whatever reasons. 8. We need to raise the level of our graded players we have two A Players one seeks to leave the other his knee , there must be a strategy to address this asap that’s even within with development or external by recruiting which is near impossible for a bottom club. 9. our mid mix don’t work, don’t let the 2 weeks to distract you. Tsatas, Caldwell and Parish can’t play in the same midfield. at some point we’ve got to play our bid body mid there in Sharp and mix Robey in too.

@1116sen I love listening to SEN Melbourne I try to phone in when I can But something strange is happening when I try to phone Dwayne World I seem to wait for ever to get on up to 30 or 40 min plus on many occasions even when I suppose to be the next person in line I seem to be shuffle back in the queue Dwayne either skip me or delays me coming on this is not a one off it’s a very common occurrence So I have not phoned in to the Dwayne Worl program for a while Today at the start of his program Dwayne made the following statement less telling everyone there would be less ads and wants to get as many people to get on, You call and you get on ,that’s his catch cry. Well I took him up his offer and I phoned in, apparently I was in the queue not many in front of apparently one or maybe two . Well Dwayne decided to play some of the coaches media conference after he concluded took a Ad break then came back with two other callers skipped me and then said he would came back to me and someone else after an ad break at this point I had enough he again wasted my time of about 30 minutes of my time and I ended the call No more for me . Dwayne stop lying to your audience change your jingle to “You Call and you Waite and if you get on if any only get on if I like you” or wait for every to get on your choice

The VFL boys go down by 11 points v Pies. Ran out legs in that last Q and Pies took well advantage of their i50s. Cox, Setters, Hately our best. Huss with the 4 goals 3. Kicked 103 points. Conceded 114. 🖤❤️

Final summary Essendon were defeated by by Collingwood by 11 points 17.12 to 15.13 Best players for Essendon were 1. Will Setterfield with 25 disposals did not appear to have played the last quarter 2. Hussien El Achkar even thou he did not get a lot of possession kicked 4 goals 3 could have been at least 6 3. This is were it got tough as many AFL players came in and out of the game Such as A. Jayden Nguyen B. Nik Cox C. Zak Johnston D. Archie Perkins Non of them could be considered for senior recall unless we have injuries or suspension next week Observations and special mentions 1. Matt Guelfi playing well below his best not sure what’s going on there 2. Rhys Unwin game has plateau the development coaches need to step in asap 3 Johnston too slow moving the ball or taking the game on at times can do a lot better coaches need to encourage him to use the great skills he has more and not worry to much in making a mistake 4. Kondogiannis development coaches please assist with his kicking accuracy particularly short kicks 5. The biggest disappointment has been in this game has been Gerreyn he good is great but his bad is extremely bad Not sure if it’s his attitude or fitness or both he got clobbered today Maybe put him back to CHF so he can enjoy his football and occasionally put him in the ruck he is not going to make it on the backline unless something dramatically changes I know he is only 19 going onto 20 so there is time He has a lot of raw talent

Johnston Thoughts Essendon playing into Collingwood strengths we are moving the ball to slowly and our delivery into the forward line is sloppy at times not hitting the targets and our tackles have been hit and miss No getting enough out of 1.Gerreyn quite lazy to be frank 2.Cox started well has drifted out of the game 3. Guelfi showing no interest in staying at Essendon at season end 4.Perkins although the stats are looking ok he is not imposing himself on the game 5.Unwin just ok 6. Kondogiannis again just ok 7.
