@ZackPolanski That’s not true Ed Miliband led Labour, Disraeli was Jewish born & a Tory leader as was Michael Howard who’s parents were Jewish immigrants. Also you didn’t say UK political party so again you are wrong and show a lack of attention to detail.

For whoever needs to hear this I'm the only Jewish person to lead a political party - third largest in the country. The Daily Mail have been & always will be my enemy - they historically supported fascists & continue to do so. I'll take no lectures from them on Antisemitism.

@RichardBurgon I think fighting the Second World War was a slightly bigger demonstration against the far right.

Half a million people marched together today - in the biggest demonstration against the far-right in our history. Our message to Farage and his allies was clear: We will defeat your division with unity. And we will challenge your hate with hope.

If Morgan McSweeney’s phone had been stolen surely it or the messages would be worth a fortune and would have surely come out by now…..

So Morgan McSweeney’s phone got stolen just before The Mandelson papers get released. Perhaps we haven’t got the defence investment report because @JohnHealey_MP ‘s dog ate it.

@Siobhain_Mc @mtpennycook The bill has many many good points but the implementation has clearly not been thought through. When you have former ministers evicting tenants to up the rent surely there were red flags that this may happen all across the rental market.

@Siobhain_Mc @mtpennycook Surely this was bound to happen. Some landlords were either going to get out of the market or have one last price hike. Why did the legislation not prevent this as without these 1.5 million homes that were going to be built landlords are in pole position.

Just weeks before no-fault evictions are due to be banned, Criterion Capital have been issuing these eviction notices to hundreds of tenants. I would like to thank Housing Minister @mtpennycook for engaging on this and looking into it. Read more here: theguardian.com/society/2026/m…

This shouldn’t be controversial: water should be publicly owned. I’ve spent years fighting for that in Parliament. Now thanks to the support of tens of thousands of you, we’re gaining ground. Profiteers have their billions. We have each other. Join us: actionnetwork.org/forms/we-can-d…

@AdamPollock How does one MP pass legislation. Parliament as a whole makes legislation.

Stella Creasy passed legislation that bans silent prayer near places where you can have an abortion. Apparently this doesn’t count a ban on prayer. Even though if you pray in these locations, you’ll get arrested. Olympic-level mental gymnastics needed to argue that nonsense.
stellacreasy@stellacreasy

Buffer zones don't ban prayer. They uphold the privacy of women having an abortion. If prayer was banned in public then no one could do it. Those getting upset about iftars in public seem to want to agree there's a 'time and place' for everything. Hyperbole and hypocrisy do not for reasoned debate make.

@lukejcr As the vehicle is over 40 years old you don’t need an MOT. Ministerial job at DfT not on the cards me thinks. Why wast your time on such things and why can’t you do simple research. Not a good look for an MP, grow up!!!!!

@____Foxtrot____ @HoCSpeaker @Keir_Starmer The speaker has no power to instruct a minister on what they say. The rules of the house simply don’t allow it. What a member says in the house is a matter for that member. Don’t blame the chair blame the PM and MPs for not voting in extra powers for the speaker.

@Cx3650 @Mike_Fabricant What an MP says is a matter for that MP and nothing can be done. Unless MPs vote for a rule change and give the chair more power.

@ZackPolanski A prime example of not thinking through a policy. Right to buy is fine but failing to have constraint such as not renting it out and not putting all the income into house building means the policy fails.

One in six private renters is now renting a former council home, often at extortionate rates – and often partly paid for by the government in the form of housing benefit. It's not just deeply unfair - it economically doesn't make any sense. standard.co.uk/news/politics/…
