@RossKempsell Anyone who's used AI knows that it's far from accurate. I, for one, am pleased that the Secretary of State doesn't use AI at work. Perfectly fine for the dept to develop it and use it for work tasks, don't know why they expect her to use it.

Despite the lies told by the Council there are no resident bays and no resident only parking areas. Public transport should be improved before any parking changes. Shawlands shoppers pay £5/hr to park when Silverburn is free.

@hussainlabour @zubirahmed @johnadgrady These are 100% necessary if you are a Southside resident. Locals driving for 30 plus minutes to find a parking spot because those not from the neighbourhood are dumping their cars. The irony of the video when you are proposing an anti-Southside policy.

@lizyeld @siobhankennedy4 I obviously don't work for the BBC & have no specific knowledge of the BBC decision making process. From public statements it appears as though the BBC only recently learned that the alleged victim was under 16. The BBC then decided to terminate his contract.

The Metropolitan Police tells me it has not received any new evidence related to the former BBC DJ Scott Mills “At this time, we have not received any additional evidence that would support reopening the investigation. As with any other matter, we will assess new information should it come to light.” Which does beg the question why his contract was terminated by the BBC? @scott_mills @BBCNews @Channel4News

@Glasgow_Live In reality, the developer delayed them and have said there's no immediate plans to take the development forward. Given the close relationship between the Council and the funders (Strathclyde Pension Fund) no doubt the S.75 money will be next to nothing.

@lizyeld @siobhankennedy4 I'm not sure I understand the question. If 'they' is the BBC then I assume there is a clause(s) in the contract that they feel were breached in a significant way.

@JDewbz87 @siobhankennedy4 I have no idea why, I can only speculate that when he joined the BBC nothing was disclosed and there would be no public record. The BBC clearly felt they had grounds to terminate his contract with the information available.

@AndrewSouthside @siobhankennedy4 I think the point is that he started with BBC in 1998 and the incidents were between 1997 and 2000 so why was this not dealt with sooner? or even noticed when they would have hired him? Why did they give someone a platform at the start of their career without due diligence

@banks_chef We compete with companies across Europe. Recent conversation about costs in Italy, no NMW and the sector wage is €6/hr. The problem in the UK is taxes are sky high and costs - especially property costs - take every penny people earn. We need to break the cycle.

With the new national minimum wage kicking in our entry point staff such as commis chef, Kitchen Porter, FOH helper will now be paid £31,724 for full time. £4009 on top to hire this person in NI contributions. Plus £1,274 pension. Total is £37,007.

@BBCScotlandNews Council policy calls for a just transition. Nothing has been done in the Southside to address parking for years. The community council has asked for parking enforcement for things like blocking lanes and dropped kerbs but the Council refused to act. This is just a cash grab.

@ICannot_Enough 56 here. First building I worked in at 16 had lifts (elevators) controlled by a real live human who would open and close the gate and control movement. Also, one operator was fired for conduct with lone females. Automation is better. Can't wait for full self driving in Scotland!

Nobody is skeptical of autonomous elevators because nobody alive today was even around to see a human elevator operator in real life before the last one got laid off. Automation is far safer.

@ewangibbs The problem with the parking control zones is they are literally just a cash grab. For years the Council has refused to deal with parking problems - take parking in front of lanes and blocking refuse collection. Transport strategy calls for just transition not smash and grab.

As a Southside resident I won’t be voting for a candidate who endorses the interests of cars over people. They’ve held sway for far too long and damaged the area.
