It’s a huge mental & emotional challenge, to keep grinding year after year without making much ground. You start to doubt yourself, & your ability. You question whether your goal is realistic. But if you quit, you’ll never find out. Keep writing. Keep creating. Keep moving.

@laleelun I felt the same way when I got my first pass a couple months back. I was like “nice, I’m at the point where people are passing on me now” lol

@AndrewYusi Haha uhh it took me 3 years to get it so maybe I’m not the best to ask! Make real connections with people at your level. Take every job you can (but obviously watch out for abuse). I worked for 2.5 years as an assistant in development for studio execs and producers before this

It took me three years to get a show runner’s assistant gig after I graduated from grad school, but the wait was freakin worth it’ I have once again been blessed with a perfect human angel boss and I can’t believe this is a real job

Anytime I’m feeling down on myself I go back and read the first script I ever wrote to get a good laugh. I highly recommend it. Sometimes I forget how funny I am. /S

@johnaugust Binged about 400 episodes until I was all caught up to present day (started on Craig’s solo episode). Took me less than a year. Could I have spent that time writing? Yes lol. Am i glad I did it though? Absolutely!
