Robert, you and I are often aligned but we are not aligned on this. The strength of belief is no indication of the merit of that belief. The number of people who believe something is no indication of the merit of that belief. The industry they work in is no indicator of the merit of their belief. Ideas must stand on their own. The fact that someone works in AI is entirely orthogonal to their ability to predict the societal implications of what they are building. There is no overlap. None. Zero. Humans are terrible at long term predictions. Gutenberg had zero idea what the printing press would do and thought it would be for printing bibles and religious texts and instead ushered in a global secular revolution. I am also skeptical that there are not multiple agendas here such as true belief and regulatory capture at the same time. I don't think giant mega corps with no competition is a valuable thing for society nor heavy handed regulation that creates monopolies. We are much better off now with long distance than in the AT&T 1950 monopoly era. But regardless of all that my point stands. This messaging is incredibly dangerous and will get people killed in the real world. There are consequences for pushing on imaginary problems that have not manifested in the real world and may never manifest. Many branches and timelines are possible in the future. But what these messages, coupled with the doomer messages, are doing is creating an insane and lethal combination and a poisonous atmosphere in America. It's creating insane backlashes against data centers, has resulted in actual murders by the Zizzians (six people dead) and the attempted murder by firebomb of Sam Altman, and we have seen people firing bullets into lawmakers houses. This kind of fear based precautionary principal approach is also causing us to fall deeply behind China in energy, high speed trains, manufacturing, robotics, factory automation and much much more. If we keep going this way we can kiss the Pax Americana goodbye and we probably already have. These messages are creating real problems based on imaginary problems. They are deeply and morally wrong and unimaginative. And I don't care in the least that people believe them because history is rife with people believing absolutely wrong things and creating real problems in the world because of those beliefs. See communism and national socialism and phrenology and eugenics and countless other examples in history. The Population Bomb was directly responsible for creating the fertility crisis in China. The history of the world reeks with wrong beliefs that create real problems. When real problems develop in the real world we should discuss them and create solutions. Imaginary problems are imaginary.

@ivanleomk @OfficialLoganK It's the typical wide AR for films that many of the other video models support aside from Veo. Models like Kling, Runway, Seedance, and others have it among their selectable aspect ratios.

Truly blown away by a new AI image model launching this week ✨ Finally, you can generate photos that actually look like you! It's so much better than everything I've tried - from LoRAs to NB Pro. Onboarding some early testers. DM or comment if you want access 👀

The Seedance 2 videos coming out of China are insane. They've had a few weeks to play with the model and we're starting to get real stories - not just novelty clips. This short drama has 100k+ likes on Rednote, with commenters demanding a sequel 👇

Noticed a strange phenomenon: the better a model gets, the more likely I am to get really frustrated. When a model passes my initial tests, I get excited and start thinking it can do everything. And then I have to crash back down to reality 🫠
