Name a workplace that doesn’t provide pens for employees to undertake their duties.
I can think of only one. I’d love to know if there are any others where you have to take your own pen to work.
@DRTEHughes@altini_marco@DrSianAllen Appreciate the convenience of optical models, but add a chest strap (pretty cheap) and you’ll have much more accurate data. I added the Garmin HR to my Garmin 245 Music. Much better data now.
Q. to the all the users of optical HR and some wearable pros @altini_marco and @DrSianAllen
Have you seen a difference in accuracy with different makes?
And in accuracy with different users?
My Garmin 245 is woeful, lags badly, always 10+ beats off, looking at other options.
@JAShuttleworth This was my fear… Anaes/ ICU dual training appears not to be enough! (Have spoken to a very helpful HEMS doctor whom confirms 6-months ED is mandatory in most services).
Looking to connect with Anaesthetists/ Intensivists who have been successful in achieving PHEM fellowship or training post? Seems 6-months EM is “essential” criteria, which rules out people who did Core Anaesthetic training pathway, no?
@morefluids F1 - General Surgery. Loved the firm structure. Great registrars, supportive Consultants. Taught me a lot about how an efficient team works. @therealtlewis
Curious to hear from anyone who has successfully utilised the salary sacrifice scheme as a nationally appointed HEE trainee? (I’ve heard it can be tricky as we don’t have permanent job contracts…) specifically looking to get a bicycle!
@DrJonathanD@morefluids I understand this, but there are very few opportunities in Anaesthesia (even ICU). A lot of hospitals have moved the responsibility over to IR or Pleural Clinic!
Anaesthetists - we are often expected to put in chest drains. It’s a required part of training. How many chest drains have you inserted during your anaesthetic career?
@TobyMorris90@Fad1878@Jopo_dr Where’s that, Toby? I was specifically told it HAD to be a general medicine (non-specific) take job. And tbf, that’s what they quote in the curriculum? (I am very envious!)
@JAShuttleworth Join a CRQ “club” - most of the clubs pump out similar questions but it ensures your revision is ticking over and you cover the major topics.
Anybody have recommendations on how to structure revision for the #FinalFRCA written? I've used question banks to guide me through the curriculum previously but can't find one for the Final....
