@jbhewitt It won’t ever. Yet despite uncertainty why ignore the opportunity to focus extrapolation mechanics to a benefit, it’s an opportunity post dead internet generations might not have a chance to influence. PS take photos of me offline 🤣

If AI gets to decide what is truth and what is fake - we’re cooked Oh well better off spending energy on entertainment and distraction from reality anyway

Grokipedia.com version 0.1 is now live. Version 1.0 will be 10X better, but even at 0.1 it’s better than Wikipedia imo.

@BrisbaneAirport honestly could you try being mediocre ? It would be a huge upgrade in service. Crazy how downhill this airport has gone over the last 3 years

@levelsio @MrBeast Your point is valid. But the call out to @MrBeast is silly. Dude franchised and failed to manage the brand at the dark supply corners then doubled down on risky proxy affiliations. Might not be the worst for the bottom line but bad brand building control.

If you're an influencer in 2024 You can't get away with just partnering with someone and move the responsibility of the product to them It destroys your reputation That's why @MrBeast makes his own products and actually owns them now Indie hackers are interesting because we literally make the products we sell while acting like influencers, meaning 100% product control and ownership

I'll be honest, I just lost a bit of respect for Marques -Immediately asks to track app activity -Also tracks location -Has terrible design and animations -Ads are absolutely everywhere -$50/yr subscription -The wallpapers aren't even that good

@yongfook As an Aussie who has helped raise in the US a few times, the barriers are just enough to make a founder sit back and think about stable organic growth and life priorities.

20 years ago when I was working in Japan, I briefly worked for a tech startup run by 2 aussies. The company was doing well, small team of about 15 people, multiple products (job boards, classifieds, that kind of thing). Sales team run by hungry young folks who were rewarded accordingly. The founders never put any undue pressure on us, just left us to do good work, and I feel like we did that. The founders were present mostly, but they also took time out for family, to go camping and to play golf etc. Looking back, those guys were way ahead of their time. They just totally ignored all the startup / VC noise and did their own thing. They just ran a profitable business. I hope to create the same kind of company.

I keep seeing this argument why Europe doesn't have tech companies "There's so mamy different EU markets, cultures, languages and regulatory environments to deal with" Then why is for example Uber, an American company, active in most of the 27 EU countries and able to navigate differences in language and culture So Americans can do it but European companies can not?
Giorgos Verdi@giorgosverdi

4/ Professor, Anu Bradford argues that 4 other factors have led to the US-EU tech gap: - There isn't a Single Market, there are 27 of them. And it's harder for innovators to scale when you need to deal with 27 cultures, 27 administrations and 24 official languages.
