@Progression1878 Jackson from Chelsea would be very good. Alvaro Rodriguez was the answer, but signed with Bournemouth. Shame these interests in our players come now.

see if EFC were to sell Beto, with a year left on his deal could they then stick a plaster on the forward position for a year by asking Chelsea (supposedly very good relationship between the 2 clubs) about a Jackson/Delap/Emegha on a seasons loan deal?

@AndyJudge Not really sure to be honest I think RW is hardest market these days I’d love say a Minteh but as you say premium cost Soule, Forbs, Guessand, Catamo, Kubo just top of my head maybe options that I haven’t looked at properly Mbaye adding another teenager feels pointless

So if Iliman Ndiaye leaves for around £60m, who do we move for? Shame the bid is coming now, loads of good young wingers have already moved. Same with Beto. Most of the good young ST have moved

If Everton sell Ndiaye, Jesus Rodriguez would be my choice of replacement. Would be expensive £50m ish. We would have 3 young wingers, but the player is there. No idea if he would come though

@Progression1878 Yeah, think Grealish is locked in, but will be a late deal. I hope it would be a none PL player, Ligue 1? A PL we would be overpaying again for a declining asset as you say.

@AndyJudge Can’t replace an asset with a declining asset if we’re talking football business in reality Bowen has committed to West Ham too so that’s off the table anyway Grealish is coming back anyway, so no idea!

@Progression1878 £70m would be great, but who would we buy in? I would see Moyes wanted a Jarrod Bowen (not against, but not with Grealish) another youngster? But then we impact development of George and Dibling. It’s a tough one,

@AndyJudge Same club paying 70 ish for Summerville will be the marker, alongside EFC saying they’re not a relegated club desperate for Cash & financially stable Yeah just said the latter myself I’d be worried in how they use funds from EFC one of few assets left

@Progression1878 What do you think we could get? I think we would get £50m of an English club, so I went for the standard £10m more. My biggest fear is the commitee/moyes are not aligned, and there is no confidence we get a replacement in at his level

@KieranMaguire Kieran, do we think the borrowing is cash flow related? A gamble to cover the shortfall from the loss of revenue now they are in League 1. Seems like a risky gamble again

As well as the money owed to  Macquarie , Leicester also owed £81m in unpaid transfer fees at 30 June 2025, of which £28m was still due a year later following relegation to League 1. Whilst Leicester had sold players and instalments due on these, it borrowed a further £61m from Macquarie secured on those payments at an average interest rate of 8.02%.

@efctruth20802 If you add 1.55 (Grealish injury to chelsea) and 1.25 expected (last 8 games) together and divide by 2 = 1.44 same ppg as with Grealish. We were worse tactics/looks wise. But results were roughly the same.

@AndyJudge People look for simple explanations In reality the drop off was probably a result of multiple reasons, gradually compounding.

Staggered there hasn't been any substantial chatter around Giannis Konstantelias so far this summer. He was one of the most exciting young(er) players we watched last season. He does things that get you up off your seat.

📊 Benchmarking u21 Wingers One of the simplest ways to identify and track the progress of u21 (could go up to u23) wingers is by looking at their expected output vs. their volume of direction actions. Expected output = npxG+xA. My preferred stat combination for what I call "direct actions" is dribbles won, prg runs, and long passes received as it covers tight space proficiency and running in space to progress both with and without he ball. When plotting all u21 "wingers" in T5 leagues (white data points) on these two axes, and including some historical references (green data points), groupings begin to emerge: - Tier 1: pretty much just Lamine Yamal at the present, historical reference points are Jeremy Doku, Vini Jr, and Rafael Leao; these are the wingers that contribute tremendously both in the final phase and in the lead up - Tier 2: simply the next step down... do all the above, just not to the same level; includes wingers like Antonio Nusa, Alejandro Garnacho, Yan Diomande, Desire Doue, Kenan Yildiz, and Jesus Rodriguez this season - Tier 3: same thing, but an additional step down; Jean-Matteo Bahoya, Yankuba Minteh, Bazoumana Toure are examples at the present (among others) - Tier 4: any winger further down; Rayan, Adam Daghim, Wilson Odobert being examples from this season Within that tier system, there are offshoots and nuances for winger-adjacent positions (like attacking midfielders and winger/CF hybrids, which I've included to illustrate the full picture): - Pure touchline wingers (Tier 3): Assane Diao and Samuel Amo-Ameyaw being the examples this season, where they have tier 4 output, but tier 2 direct action volume; historical examples being Abde Ezzalzouli, Jeremy Doku, and Nico Williams very early in their careers before they put it together (you can see Doku and Williams' progression from left to right with more seasoning) - Pure touchline wingers (Tier 4): Adam Daghim is probably the best example of this archetype this season, but historical examples include Odobert, Omari Hutchinson, and Tyler Dibling; wingers that are in systems that do them absolutely no favors, but have shown flashes in direct actions... an archetype with a lower hit rate, but still some promise - Wide forwards (Tier 2 or 3): tier 3 or 4 direct actions, but tier 1 or 2 output; you see two versions of this: "mavericks" like Estevao or Lennart Karl that play wide, but still produce (historically also names like Wirtz, Cherki, and Musiala populated this area, but there aren't any more "central" options like that in this u21 cohort) and "winger/CF hybrids" like Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Endrick, and Said El Mala (historically someone like Karim Adeyemi) - Attacking Midfielders: not wingers, but still on the graph for comparison sake (and because I don't want to manually remove players from the position tags); Nico Paz, Can Uzun are the examples right now, Harvey Elliot and Fermin Lopez are the historical reference points - Not WFs or AMs: bottom left... were on the chart because of their positional tags, but this analysis does not apply to them (Bergval, Mukau) This can, of course, be improved in a number of ways, like adjusting for possession or team environment or league strength, but this serves as a baseline for how I benchmark winger prospects. Why just u21? As the players age, you want to see not just a raw volume of actions, but success rate improvements... shots that lead to something, not just shots. From 23 or 24 on, success rates and overall value start to matter more in my opinion. If you want to manually adjust someone like Rayan up or Alejandro Garnacho down for qualitative reasons, good; five data points shouldn't rule your intuition... its a guide. Thanks for reading!
