There does seem to be a change in mindset.
You will need to really overspend to incur points deductions.
Matt Hughes@MattHughesMedia
Premier League agree to amend SCR rules, with compliant clubs to be permitted spend up to 10% over the 85% threshold every third year. | The Guardian theguardian.com/football/2026/…

@slbsn The IC clearly took it seriously - though procedurally they got it all wrong.
From rereading I’m not sure the PL considered it that serious
The breach was their main focus - acting in good faith seemed a bit of an afterthought.
English

@efctruth20802 Yes, that is why I split it out as 1-4 points for the wrongful finding
English

@slbsn
It may be worth revisiting Everton’s first breach (and appeal) in trying to make some sense of the Chelsea “punishment”
The PL only raised “acting in utmost good faith” as an aggravating factor.
It was the IC that (wrongly) seemed to treat is as if it was a charge.

@MrBoogerstrom @Progression1878 But it’s not corrupt - unless someone can explain how the PL staff have gained financially from this ridiculous process,
English

@MrBoogerstrom @Progression1878 Our fans are feeling aggrieved.
But the key thing is what does it say to those that competed fairly. They’ve really been shafted.
No attempt to look into why they did it & whether it opened up deals that otherwise wouldn’t have happened.
English

@EddyJBlue There was consistency between us, Forest & Leicester
Chelsea is the anomaly
English

@efctruth20802 The vast majority of people/fans saw a 10 point deduction reduced to 6 on appeal as the outcome.
Which ever way you look at it the point is there is no consistency in the FAs punishments.

@FlIngve The problem with your conspiracy is why favour Chelsea & possibly City
It’s clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal etc that were disadvantaged. Why aren’t the PL looking out for them?
English

@FlIngve Conspiracy crap
Our (and Forest) penalties acted as a deterrent. They changed behaviour
Who knows why Chelsea were treated leniently but City is different
1) no cooperation
2) could impact PSR
English

Genuinely it’s not corrupt
Incompetent, but not corrupt.
Benj@Benjwinst
Genuinely is corrupt isn’t it. @premierleague
English

@EddyJBlue No it wasn’t
It was a 10 point deduction that was set aside
A new 6 point penalty was imposed from first principles.
It’s a legal matter. Understanding a bit about the law helps.
🤷♂️
English

@efctruth20802 Sounds like a politicians response.
it was a 10 point deduction, which on appeal was reduced to 6. That's it.

Hi all if you follow my main account @gavinbuckland1 then take no notice of any posts as it's been hacked. Grateful if you RT. Thanks.
English

@efctruth20802 @Andy_H_EFC I think you counteract the third point by giving him an extension — even if just another 12 months on the end.
English

You’d think people would stop making this type of comment.
4 teams within 3 points
All of them capable of putting in a good run of results
There’s going to be plenty of twists

Now I think there's absolutely zero chance of Spurs going down. Funny old game
English

@Andy_H_EFC My point is not that he should go. But that there are good reasons why he could go.
English

@Andy_H_EFC 1) you think it’s too soon. Others may disagree.
2) were agreed
3) look at a Dyche, Moyes’s at West Ham, Glasner & others.
The last year can be difficult
