TFG are our owners for now - they’ve partly addressed some of our funding issues - they seem to realise it’s best to try and employ the best CEO & Manager you can and then leave them to do their job -they will use every accounting trick they can

@antonjbenson @PatricRidge There’s 2 parts to it Selection Substitutions Ndiaye (and Grealish before him) shouldn’t be playing 90 minutes every game. It’s not good for them or the team.

@efctruth20802 @PatricRidge I hate the term ‘favourites’ He clearly plays players for a reason, not because they are ‘favourites’ Isn’t McNeil supposed to be one of his ‘favourites’ yet he’s not featured the last 2 weeks.

@efctruth20802 @PatricRidge The drop off over the last month hasn’t been ideal. But I wouldn’t say that’s all on Moyes. Branthwaite and IGG playing in the last few games and we very likely pick up most of the points. It depends on TFG’s plans going forward. I still suspect it will involve Moyes.

@antonjbenson @PatricRidge For example. Central defenders Fit & in form Branthwaite plus any one of other 3 will probably be ok to start next season. But if JO’B doesn’t play we’re storing up a problem. He’s 25 and needs to start playing CB week in. Week out.

@antonjbenson @PatricRidge I’ve said the same in the past. The last month or two has made me question that. Think there’s a real danger he could make it very difficult for the next manager.

@MrBoogerstrom 4) managers/ players cheat. You can refine the laws but they will adapt. Holding at corners perfect example.

@MrBoogerstrom 1) refereeing isn’t at the highest level, but is only likely to get worse (who would want to be a top level ref?) 2) they’ve implemented VAR badly 3) people expect complete accuracy, but subjective laws inevitably lead to ambiguity. We need to live with it.

Coleman’s 17 seasons 70+ points 1 65-69 0 60-64 3 55-59 2 50-54 2 45- 49 6* 40-44 1 <40 2 * includes current season, could finish as high as 55

@RichieReid89 @Paddy_Boyland Yes. But we could have attacked & defended better in those last few minutes too. Or could have been playing without Pickford. If he’d seen a red against West Ham.

@efctruth20802 @Paddy_Boyland The West Ham decision for me is less impactful because we scored after the incident and still lost. It’s the City one that’s really going to grate if we end up missing out on Europe (or a better European competition) by a point or two…

@efctruth20802 @Paddy_Boyland (Valid) Grievances with decisions toward the end of a season are more impactful and do make a bigger difference than earlier in the season. Similar principle with errors late in games meaning more than earlier on.

@CitizenSuburbia @slbsn Ball boy at St Mary’s second leg withheld ball from Boro player. On it’s own a trivial incident but are Saints rotten to the core? Disappointing from a once fine club

🚨🤓 Southampton Spygate personal view: 1. Expect the breaches will be straightforward to establish (ie liability) and almost certainly admitted to try and get some sanction credit/discount 2. Expect aggravating factors such as other examples of Soton spying this year to be raised 3. Fundamental question of how serious a breach of rule 127 and good faith is will be key. We know good faith alone was £200k in the Leeds case. The new rule makes it worse and spying obviously seeks a sporting advantage - why else do it? So that does point to sporting sanction of some sort 4. Being thrown out of the Play Offs appears excessive especially given Southampton finished 7 points clear of 6th and 9 clear of 7th 5. A 3-0 in the first leg would have been an option again excessive retrospectively unless 2nd leg re-playable (not feasible) 6. More likely sanction is points deduction next season in the Championship as much as that won't help Middlesboro 7. Unlikely that the PL will take a points deduction recommendation from the EFL (no fixed rule) - doubt EFL will push for it, so would apply in first season back in Championship (when and if) 8. My best guess is SIX EFL points in first season in EFL and £500k-£1m fine 9. Boro compensation claim can be dealt with separately subject to any claim brought by Boro - difficult claim to establish due to causation issues

@TheGaryLambert It also shows how ridiculous the laws are. All the talk after the game was whether the ball was in play when the foul happened. That’s just mad.

It shows how clear the penalty we should have got against City was when the VAR panel got 5-0 on it considering the handball against West Ham only got 4-1.

@antonjbenson Not good But we’ve struggled at the end of games recently and he’s never once called upon the club captain.
