TFG are our owners for now - they’ve partly addressed some of our funding issues - they seem to realise it’s best to try and employ the best CEO & Manager you can and then leave them to do their job -they will use every accounting trick they can

Sort of thing that most of us are completely unaware of ( probably explains the very young, nervous looking guys with clipboards in the pre season testing videos)
Training Ground Guru@ground_guru

One of great legacies of John McKeown 17 years @Everton = club’s paid internship programme, which has been running since 2011. Takes final-year Sport and Exercise Science undergraduates from @LJMU into Everton’s Academy each season. Interns work across disciplines including strength and conditioning, nutrition, performance analysis and psychology, learning directly from the club’s own practitioners. Programme has produced more than 80 graduates now working in professional sport around the world. #EFC trainingground.guru/everton-u18s-l…

@KieranJ_1979 @TacticallyMatt It’s completely different to away tickets Clubs have multi million pound shirt contracts which would need renegotiating That would mean huge revenue losses for clubs (it would be the clubs that would have to absorb the reduction)

@TacticallyMatt Yeah but that’s a different situation though. It would just never get through as it would be challenged immediately. Just don’t buy them doesn’t appear to be an option people want to take

This is like the old firestick stuff. Stop pricing people out of football, whether that be watching it on TV, buying tickets, or merchandise, and they'll be less of a market for stuff like this
Sky Sports News@SkySportsNews

City of Edinburgh Trading Standards officials seized 58,000 counterfeit football shirts & kit, all intended to be sold illegally during the World Cup. The kits weighed in at 9 tonnes and had an estimated retail value in excess of £5.5 million 🚨

@KieranJ_1979 And I get that too. But clubs would have sold out away ends before a £30 ticket cap too. I refuse to believe something can't be done about it

@TacticallyMatt I’m sceptical of the numbers reported for our Castore deal But this is greater than all ticket revenue at Goodison, not just away fans.

@TacticallyMatt That’s completely different. That’s an arrangement between clubs, no external contracts. A restriction on shirt prices would need every club to renegotiate their contracts with their kit suppliers. They can be worth huge amounts.

@TacticallyMatt Nobody can do it in England That’s the point. We’re far too far along the commercialisation route.

@TacticallyMatt Who has a state of the art new stadium, makes big signings & keeps prices affordable to fans? And don’t mention Bayern Munich, that model is unworkable here.

Some interesting physical profiling going on at Tottenham in the first few days of pre-season under Roberto De Zerbi. - A 6-min Submaximal Aerobic Test. - A High Intensity Intermittent Test (looks like 30:15 IFT) with lactate testing between rounds. - A Peripheral Neuromuscular Fatigue Test Even Conor Gallagher look shattered by the end.

@TacticallyMatt We can have a state of the art new stadium & big signings every summer. Or a game affordable to working class people. Not both.

The market feels like it's reached another level. I'd rather Everton stayed disciplined than get drawn into inflated fees. Identify players before they become premium assets, let them develop with the squad and enjoy watching the team develop over time.

@Progression1878 @KieranJ_1979 @ScoutTom_ 100%, and they compounded it in January. Last summer, according to Kinnear (his words), they were wanting an ‘outstanding’ RB opportunity. They allowed Moyes far too much leeway on how highly he rated O’Brien there and it cost them

@Progression1878 @ScoutTom_ Layered on top of that is the apparent “short termism” of targets Blighted the Moshiri years. But also probably impacted last season, with Moyes use of the squad.

@Progression1878 @ScoutTom_ That’s partly related to our lack of identity as a club Seen as too big to do a “Brighton” But not got the finances to sign the ready made players
