HS2 is the biggest public policy failure in this countries unbelievably long history. Instead of a standard high-speed line, egos pushed us to trying to create the fastest mainline in the world. Now it costs a fortune, is taking 3 times as long as promised and going nowhere.

I’m fascinated by the fact that nobody plays Monopoly by the printed rules in the rulebook — which allegedly make the game much faster. Talked to some Monopoly heads about it and played a round myself to see if we’ve been treating the world’s most hated board game unfairly.

@axioomf From what I’ve seen, it depends on which security systems they have in place. Manchester T2 is “laptops stay in the bag” but I can’t speak for the other terminals. The same is probably true for Heathrow & Gatwick.
