@Uncommon_Web @FlyersAnt Yup. And, the only part of the deal that isn’t ideal is that it’s 5 years, but I think he has limited trade protection, if any, the last couple years, so it should be fine.

@AndyOB52 @FlyersAnt EXACTLY!! I was pissed At first of the big extension but I’ve learned to love the glue Dvorak brings. And for something like the 28th pick that we won’t see until 2030 likely— kicking the can is over with & we need to foster a roster Now!

I criticized the Dvorak signing, but he could be a very solid complementary staple for this roster for the next few seasons

Porter Martone is a beast. He is going to be a scoring machine. His 6’4 size will allow him to be a demon near the bet. He is also extremely skilled, has great hands and his skating has improved. The 2025 class was so talented

@Philabuster10 @NHL I hear ya. Flyers deserve a few calls. Refs definitely played a role yesterday, and that’s never justified, especially so in a playoff race.

@AndyOB52 @NHL Debatable, was hit from behind and knocked down, I could see how it wasn’t called but at the same time if you’re going to call that penalty on Couts you could have called that one. Also there was another more egregious that wasn’t called either so could have been a make up call

Video 1: Couts gets cross checked in the back and falls into Larkin, Couts gets a tripping penalty Detroit scores on the PP Video 2: Martone gets taken down from behind, while the Flyers should have been on a PP Det scores Officials can’t control the outcome, be better @NHL

So the Flyers did not get the first result last night, but at least the Islanders lost in regulation Flyers can still move into a wildcard spot tonight with the following PHI def WAS in any fashion PIT def DET in any fashion FLA def OTT in any fashion BUF def CBJ in regulation
Ferngully@afern_alex

Flyers can be in a playoff spot as early as the end of tomorrow if the following happens NYI def PIT (regulation) DET def PIT (regulation) CAR def CBJ (regulation) PHI def WAS (any fashion)

Here's how the Flyers roster could look as soon as Tuesday night I really think this team can make a run if they can get into the playoffs

@dsilver88 Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised based on that potential coach logic. Sigh. Yeah we’ll see

@AndyOB52 I think they will use the excuse of Martone being right-handed and wanting to ease his transition to put Michkov back on the LW where Tocchet wants him, but we shall see

Very likely we see Porter Martone sign his ELC in the near future and he suits up for his first NHL game later this week. Would be interested to see this lineup: Martone-Zegras-Tippett Barkey-Dvorak-Konecny Bump-Cates-Michkov Hathaway-Couturier-Glendening @FlyersKnitty

In retrospect (and I was thinking it at the time), Tocchet probably should have called a timeout after the second goal to settle the guys down.

Anthony Di Marco: Re Flyers: According to sources, Jamie Drysdale’s RFA dollar value is somewhere in the $3 million to $4m range. Reading the tea leaves, the Flyers don’t seem to be as eager to go long term with Drysdale as they are with Trevor Zegras - Daily Faceoff (3/24)

Anthony Di Marco: Re Flyers: According to sources, the team feels Trevor Zegras’ RFA years’ AAV should hover around his current $5.75m; As a UFA, Zegras would likely get an AAV that falls somewhere in the neighborhood of $9m to $9.5m - Daily Faceoff (3/24)

@AndyOB52 @AndyGolden56124 Honestly, I would eat half the contract to even get literally anything back for him. I think you can convince a team he is worth a little under 4 million a year. He’s a 30 pt 4C at this stage.

@AndyOB52 Danielson, but I don't think either are likely to be high end guys. Danielson has a better chance to be a solid 2C though.

For the life of me, I still do not understand why both the Detroit Red Wings and seemingly the NHL at large treats Nate Danielson like he's this great prospect. He's never produced like a potential NHL 1C! At any level! It's wild.

The #LGRW aren't all-in enough, and it could cost them a playoff spot. A refusal to budge on dealing from an area of surplus has kept Steve Yzerman's team in the murky middle, writes @ADiMarco25. Column: dailyfaceoff.com/news/could-det…
