Translation Smith & Ainge are about to get suckered into trading Darryn Peterson, Ace Bailey, and maybe even Lauri Markkanen for a former BYU player who couldn’t do better than 10th place in Big 12 Betcha Wizards gaming this & would take DP first who’s the better player

The Wizards are sending out signals that they are indeed open to moving back from No. 1 overall, per @WindhorstESPN (podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/maj…). The Jazz are not the only team interested in jumping up to select AJ Dybantsa.

One of the worst parts of COVID was watching Americans surrender their God-given freedoms to bureaucrats who were wrong about everything.

@esidery @MarcJSpears I can’t believe any young guy would want to live in Utah unless he’s a devout Mormon. It is BORING.

Tne ACC, Big 12 and ND now support the B1G’s 24-team Playoff. The SEC is the last holdout. If they cave, say goodbye to the greatest regular season in sports. If you love college football, it’s time to stand up and make your voices heard. nytimes.com/athletic/72777…

One element on the "trade up for AJ" conversation I haven't seen mentioned... The NBA is increasingly moving away from being a best-player-wins sport. It's no longer clear that you should sacrifice depth to get an All-NBA guy let alone given the uncertainty of the draft.

"People get so mad at this take... Kobe's the 8th greatest player and he was never the best player in the world." @getnickwright breaks down the best player in the world during every season of Kobe's career... and why it was never him

This is awful.

Nick Wright on the debate if LeBron James tenure in LA was a success: “LeBron the record is 8 years with the Lakers, 7 trips to the playoffs. 2 seasons where they made a conference finals and 1 championship. And you’re going to have folks today earnestly genuinely try to argue that LeBron Lakers tenure was a failure. To which I would simply say or ask and don’t even add I’m not even asking you to add any age related qualifiers to it. Has Giannis 13 year Bucks career been a failure? Because in those 13 years, Giannis has 1 trip to the finals, 1 championship, and 1 trip to another conference finals and that’s the exact same thing as Bron in his 8 with the Lakers.” (Via @WhatsWrightShow)

And 99% of the fans absolutely hate that idea! Pathetic. The ACC has had a team in the National Championship in the 4-team format (won 2 titles) and 12-team format. The Big 12 had a team in the National Championship in the 4-team format and has had a team with a bye week in each of the two seasons with a 12-team format. They’re more than competitive enough and don’t need to completely eviscerate the regular season just to get some 8-4 loser in at #23 for “access.”
