@StirlingCouncil The proposals in this survey are shocking, especially when the Council has spent almost £1 million on developing proposals for a flood protection scheme for Callander which if built, will cost £4 million and will be completely inadequate.

@hmics A timely, very helpful report that reveals extent to which police officers &staff are now drawn into what essentially is a health crisis: Police will always seek to protect lives &vulnerable but need support from NHS to act quickly and allow officers to return patrol &response.

A #SGoRR resilience meeting has been chaired by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice & Home Affairs. Ministers were updated on the response to heavy rainfall across Scotland. While this is easing, the flood risk in parts of the country remains high. bit.ly/SGoRROct8

The A811 is closed either side of Drymen Bridge and at the entrance to Buchanan Castle Estate. The road has subsided. The A84 north of Callander and the Ben Ledi car park and Strathyre cabins is also closed. Diversions in place at Kilmahog and or Strathyre.

@WecopsCaroline @Its_Just_Darren Exactly. The local, interpersonal connections have been lost…the very foundation of policing by consent has been undermined. How you square that with the need for dealing with CT, cyber crime, etc which requires less visible policing and all with fewer resources is a challenge.

@Its_Just_Darren That’s not been made that easy though with stretched resources. We used to have 3 police stations across the borough and we’d do exactly that - then when we went to super boroughs, that was impossible/lost.
