The first queer people I ever knew were my childhood next-door neighbors. This poem in @poetrymagazine was part of my thinking about how, especially in rural or suburban places, queer folks are forced to hide in plain sight, known but not fully acknowledged, to live and survive.

Best audiobooks to listen to on Libby for a cross-country drive? So far I’ve listened to Bradbury, Butler, Le Guin, Joe Hill and Seanan McGuire and gotta say the last two blew me away the most.
