As temperatures rise this weekend, more drivers will be heading to higher elevations and scenic roadways throughout Los Angeles County. Winding canyon roads may be beautiful, but they can also be extremely dangerous. Enjoy the canyons, but do so safely. 🚲 Each year, we respond to numerous vehicle and motorcycle crashes in canyon areas. Many of these collisions are caused by excessive speed, following too closely, or crossing over double yellow lines. Please remember: 
• Slow down and obey posted speed limits
• Watch for cyclists and motorcyclists
• Use designated turnouts to allow faster traffic to pass

#SmokeAdvisory: Fire crews are conducting a prescribed burn today, Feb. 26 in San Gabriel Canyon at Valley of the Moon located about a mile south of Coldbrook Campground on Highway 39. If weather and conditions allow, the prescribed burn project will continue tomorrow, Feb. 27. Smoke and flame may be visible to surrounding communities.

A temporary closure has been issued for trails within the Mt. Baldy (Mt. San Antonio) area of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. A new automated fee machine is now in service at the Clear Creek Information Station! These automated fee machines provide visitors easy access to purchase the Daily Adventure Pass. Another automated fee machine is located at the San Gabriel Canyon Gateway Center along State Route 39. #SmokeAdvisory: Angeles National Forest firefighters are conducting prescribed fire operations in the upper Mount Baldy area near Manker Flat and Icehouse Canyon. If conditions allow, the project will continue Friday, Jan. 23 with mop-up on Saturday. Smoke may be seen in the surrounding communities of Mount Baldy, Claremont, San Antonio Heights, Upland, and Rancho Cucamonga.
