@Martina My personal opinion. Series 1 to 3 originally broadcast on BBC2 absolutely brilliant. Series 4 to 6 ok. The ending to series 6 diabolical.

@Poppy_yyyyyyyy This is awful. Email the chief executive, copy in PALS and the rheumatology team (email addresses should be available on hospital website) explain what has happened and the fact that you have been unable to get a response. I would also turn up for the appointment. Good luck.

Fun NHS story of the day. I had a rheumatology appointment for Monday which they cancelled last minute as I’m immunocompromised and, for some reason, immunocompromised patients shouldn’t attend hospital appointments at the moment. That’s ok, I have another appointment booked for Monday 20th with the consultant, which is also when I run out of all medication. My GP won’t prescribe anymore medication as it needs a specialist. I’ve just had a phone call to say that as I was a ‘no show’ at my appointment on Monday, my appointment for 20th has been cancelled. I explain that they cancelled it, I was in the car park when they cancelled it. Phone lady says ‘oh, ok I’ll transfer you to the secretary then’. Secretary is an answerphone message saying that no one is in the office but I can leave a message if id like to. I have just left an answerphone message of me crying down the phone, so that’ll be nice for them to hear if/ when anyone ever listens to it. I have RA. When I stop taking methotrexate and steroids I am unable to walk or pick up a cup within 3 days. I look after my children on my own Monday-Friday. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I had private healthcare but they decided that as it’s a permanent condition they won’t cover it anymore.

@DoctorMayJay With the only advice to “take a couple of paracetamol before the procedure”. It was an incredibly painful experience and to this day I can’t get over how awful it was.
