@Angry_Husky

Everyone who says Trump can't become a dictator assumes that the courts or Congress have the physical means to restrain or remove Trump. THEY DO NOT.

"The Constitution could not be sustained if the country did not first sustain certain virtues of self-restraint among those who administer the government". Paraphrased from writings of James Madison in the Federalist Papers. But, what does he know, right?

A federal judge, Mustafa T. Kasubhai, ruled that HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. overstepped his authority when he warned that doctors could be cut off from Medicare and Medicaid for providing gender affirming care to minors. Compare headlines by political bias rating.

@RpsAgainstTrump Ty Cobb used to be more restrained. He now recognizes the existential threat Trump poses as well as the utter uselessness of republicans in Congress to rein in their own monster. For Congressional republicans to abdicate their responsibility now is tantamount to treason.

Former Trump White House attorney Ty Cobb blasts Trump’s “shameful” and “despicable” post about Robert Mueller’s death: “He’s a demented narcissist. You know, seriously hates anybody who stands in opposition to him, has reworked the justice department into a revenge machine, and rules the country in a very authoritarian manner with the assistance of a cowardly cabinet and even more cowardly Republicans in Congress.”

@MacFarlaneNews Trump has entered the punishment phase of the DHS defunding. He's also in the punishment phase of the Iran war. Trump is the same as any other six-year-old bully. If people don't cave to his every whim, he beats them up, only now he has the power to do it without restraint.

@gtconway3d @realDonaldTrump All through the cold war, the world feared the potential for a maniac to become head of a nuclear superpower and start WWIII. That possibility has now become a stark reality and the days when Congress had the integrity to remove an unstable president are long gone.

I watched the movie "Nuremberg" on Netflix tonight. The takeaway for me is that the Nazis weren't unique and what happened there can happen again elsewhere. The Nazis took over in 1933 Germany because those who could stop them... ...didn't. And 70 million people died.

@washingtonpost It's not "at risk". It's well on its way. What we're "at risk" of is a global catastrophe because the cold war fear that a maniac might become head of a nuclear armed superpower is now a stark reality and Congress is too chickenshit to remove him (assuming it's not too late).

@SenSchumer The solution is to scrape together ten people from each party in all of Congress who are serious about doing the job Congress was established to do. Put them all in one room where they have to talk to each other openly where everyone can hear. The other 515 are the problem.

ZERO Republican Senators voted to fund TSA. This is the seventh time Republicans have blocked pay for TSA. Seven. Times. They would rather hold TSA hostage to try to force billions more for an unrestrained, out of control ICE. Despicable.
Chuck Schumer@SenSchumer

BREAKING: I’m bringing a motion to the floor to FULLY FUND TSA. Republicans Senators will be forced on the record: they can either vote to fund TSA for good or be fully responsible for its continued shutdown.

@Phil_Mattingly Well, since the conventional arsenal has been largely depleted, I guess it's time to break out the nukes. Relax! Not the big ones. Just the little ones. Just enough to create a big enough global crisis to postpone the 2026 elections. And that Epstein file thing.

@jonfavs Remember the days during the peak of the cold war when people openly discussed the risk of some maniac becoming the head of a nuclear armed country and starting WWIII? When did we stop taking that seriously? Because it's now becoming a very real possibility.

He’s winding down the war and looking for an off-ramp but will blow up all their power plants unless they open the Strait which we don’t need and will open itself anyway which is why he might send ground troops to the country he already blew off the map.

@ruthbenghiat You can be sure that Trump is going to pull out all the stops to achieve certainty in a favorable outcome for himself in 2026 election. If he fails, it won't be because of some obvious shortcoming in his plan. It will be luck, because the courts and Congress can't stop it.

@Mondoweiss Zionists are now attaching the label, anti-Semite, to so many people that it's lost its meaning like the word feminist, racist, sexist, xenophobe, etc. When you condemn everyone who doesn't think just like you, it says more about you than them. See also US political parties.

@davidaxelrod The ones who deserve your wrath are ALL the inept, arrogant, and self serving officials of the US govt (that we keep reelecting) who are forcing people to work without a paycheck. If that's an insurmountable problem, then the US is already on the road to full collapse.

Really hard to blame TSA agents for bailing. They have to feed their families. So when you get to the front of the security lines, don't take your frustrations out on THEM, even if they're grumpy. The folks who are still on the job deserve our profound thanks. And paychecks!

@JonLemire Thankfully someone in the Trump administration managed to pound into Trump's mushy brain the idiocy of attacking Iranian oil fields because Trump is far too stupid to cope with details like that. Netanyahu is as reckless, arrogant, and stupid (but not as gullible) as Trump.
