I had an amazing week in Edinburgh, learning a new technique that will help our lab understand more about synaptic vesicle recycling. Thank you @theCousinLab for having me! Closing with the best view from the Castle 🌈

The 38th Microelectrode Techniques for Cell Physiology Workshop @CPW_Plymouth has come to an end. Two weeks full of lectures, experiments and amazing lunch at @thembauk. I'm glad for the many interesting scientists I met and can't wait to go back to the lab and apply everything!

Why have we always held the CPW in Plymouth? Sir Alan Hodgkin & Sir Andrew Huxley carried out research here at the Marine Biological Association (@thembauk), for which they won the 1963 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, discovering how nerves transmit signals. @physoc

The pathology of genetic epilepsies is likely to begin in utero. McLeod et al. establish an in vitro assay to study the impact of specific gene variants on the developing human brain, using living organotypic slice cultures of the early human cortex. bit.ly/3NEEs9G
