I was really pleased to be able to support Usdaw’s campaign to create a specific offence to protect retail workers from assault. On Friday I visited @sainsburys at the Galleries. It was great to hear about the community work Sainsbury's is currently doing, supporting local school breakfast clubs and regular donations to Washington Community Food Project.

Sainsbury’s is investing £205m to boost hourly colleague pay to at least £11 and help support colleagues with the rising cost of living. This investment is the largest we've ever made in pay and exceeds the government's new National Living Wage rates bitly.ws/yya8
