I want to start to expose some of the difficulties NHS staff face on a daily basis. Bullying, racism, ableism, cliques and poor leadership. As well as to highlight the great leadership, allies and good work I see. Sadly I have to do this anonymously, which says it all.

@LBC @aliciakearns Oh god, this has brought out all the ‘whataboutery’ possible. Let me add what no one else has… men are killed more often than women by…men! There is a conversation here needed about why men kill both men and women.

@ShaunLintern @SteveBarclay @Policy_Exchange The NHS need to get rid of all the highly paid D&I posts & employ nurses with the funds. It’s an insult to think highly educated staff need to be told how to accept people from all backgrounds especially when they look after them daily. & stop wasting money on pronoun badges.

@NuffieldHealth very upset to see you will be closing the outdoor pool at our gym. But even more you are refusing to put in a booking system for the indoor pool! Why? This would help give confidence to those who use the pool that the6 will still be able to actually swim?!

I was asked this morning why have I put out two blog and a series of tweets about the CQC? I replied it's because the ET Shyam Kumar won and the CQC response to it suggest that at least one director is not a Fit and Proper Person to lead a body with its role. Staff can't say it.

Why is it necessary, 5 years after a detailed report on normalised bullying by @grumpyoldprof , for staff to whistleblow outside the trust on sumilar issues? Bullying and harassment ‘normalised’ at trust put back in special measures hsj.co.uk/quality-and-pe…

@loucarden74 Nope definitely shouldn’t have to, but it’s there, and in many places it’s permitted. There are some great leaders in the NHS but there are so many poor ones 😪

@SueAllison809 Nor many others. There is still a culture of blame and cover up sadly. I see many instances where those who raise issues still get that label, or matters are explained away.

Just heard on Radio 4 that the #NHS claims it has a zero tolerance policy to racism. That is not the experience of those working in it. Look at the recent ETJ @rogerkline shared against #UHDB. Talking shops don’t work. Need to act when it’s raised.

If you produce nothing worthwhile in 100% of possible days at work that doesn't look too good on the productivity index.

@AnonymousNHS1 Good morning I would urge tem to speak with their EDI Leads, F2SU Guardians and the Health and Wellbeing leads. I appreciate the various views on how supportive these services can be but we can make in roads and challenge these behaviours. It does vary of course.

Messenger review badly needed. Worried it won’t hit the mark. Where will the funds come from and what will happen to those already in post, who are not fit for the role?

We know that the more difficult an environment becomes, the worse people will behave. That’s where the NHS is right now. We need better @sajidjavid

But worry the system is so broken right now, it can’t. @sajidjavid how can you guarantee our NHS workers this review will be the change we need to our often toxic cultures?
