@LBC @aliciakearns Oh god, this has brought out all the ‘whataboutery’ possible. Let me add what no one else has… men are killed more often than women by…men! There is a conversation here needed about why men kill both men and women.

@safeguardwomen @ShaunLintern @SteveBarclay @Policy_Exchange Poppycock. I know of racist nurses who definitely don’t accept people from all backgrounds. I’ve seen their ‘private’ what’s app messages. Horrifying that some of them are looking after patients from those backgrounds.Eurgh.
English

@ShaunLintern @SteveBarclay @Policy_Exchange The NHS need to get rid of all the highly paid D&I posts & employ nurses with the funds. It’s an insult to think highly educated staff need to be told how to accept people from all backgrounds especially when they look after them daily. & stop wasting money on pronoun badges.
English

A big call from @SteveBarclay - and at a time when we have a Chancellor more receptive to health spending.
Where will he wield the axe? His summer speech to @Policy_Exchange provides clues. 53k people working at the centre will be in his sights. Enough thetimes.co.uk/article/nhs-do…

@NuffieldHealth very upset to see you will be closing the outdoor pool at our gym. But even more you are refusing to put in a booking system for the indoor pool! Why? This would help give confidence to those who use the pool that the6 will still be able to actually swim?!

Why is it necessary, 5 years after a detailed report on normalised bullying by @grumpyoldprof , for staff to whistleblow outside the trust on sumilar issues?

@loucarden74 Nope definitely shouldn’t have to, but it’s there, and in many places it’s permitted. There are some great leaders in the NHS but there are so many poor ones 😪
English

@SueAllison809 Nor many others. There is still a culture of blame and cover up sadly. I see many instances where those who raise issues still get that label, or matters are explained away.
English

Just heard on Radio 4 that the #NHS claims it has a zero tolerance policy to racism. That is not the experience of those working in it. Look at the recent ETJ @rogerkline shared against #UHDB. Talking shops don’t work. Need to act when it’s raised.

@PaulFitz58 Absolutely! I think these roles mostly try v hard to shift the culture.

@AnonymousNHS1 Good morning I would urge tem to speak with their EDI Leads, F2SU Guardians and the Health and Wellbeing leads. I appreciate the various views on how supportive these services can be but we can make in roads and challenge these behaviours. It does vary of course.

We know that the more difficult an environment becomes, the worse people will behave. That’s where the NHS is right now. We need better @sajidjavid
English

But worry the system is so broken right now, it can’t. @sajidjavid how can you guarantee our NHS workers this review will be the change we need to our often toxic cultures?

@JamesTitcombe James, can only agree.begged for c section due to terror of birth b/c previous trauma. Psychiatrist wrote to beg on my behalf. They refused.not natural. 4degree tear led to ptsd, floppy baby & needing inpatient mother and baby unit 3 month stay. How cld that be a good outcome?

@Sharpeysharpe So sorry to hear this, but totally understand. The NHS isn’t a great place to be working right now 😪
