@EFischberger @Kredo0 You can say what you said, but don’t use that project as a “thumbnail” because that project has so much hidden context that no one cared to look at before making assumptions.

@ProfessorAtty @EFischberger No it isn’t, he put that flag up to welcome their new Palestinian students. The flags in the gym represent all the nationalities of the students who have and currently attend Nysmith. It’s inclusion, not antisemitism.

@EFischberger This couple made a mistake by assuming that the headmaster was not anti semitic. Thats exactly what he is. Raising a Palestinian flag next to all other nations flags in a school gym is 100% anti semitic

@EYakoby Yes. They drew a picture of hitler, but do any of you even know what the assignment was? As someone who attended Nysmith and did this project, I can tell you that the project was to draw a Machiavellian leader and use text from Machiavelli’s book, the prince, to describe hitler

As a student who attended Nysmith for over a decade, I know for a fact that the project had nothing to do with praising hitler or defining him as a “strong leader”.

A student at Nysmith School—a top K-8 school in Virginia—submitted this Hitler portrait as a “strong historical leader.” The school shared it proudly with parents. When Jewish parents complained, their 11-year-old daughter was told to “toughen up.” Then all three of their children were expelled!! Let that sink in. This isn’t college. This isn't high school. This is an elementary and middle school. The headmaster raised a Palestinian flag in the gym after October 7th—then canceled the Holocaust program out of concern it would “inflame tensions.” Inflame tensions with whom?! When Jewish students were bullied—called baby killers, taunted about the death of an uncle in the Hamas massacre—they were punished for speaking up. This is not just a civil rights violation.
