He never graduated top of the class and only got into officer school because of granny as he had low grad grades. He was never as high as commander. It's all online.

Gunner has to be a fully qualified Apache pilot - Harry graduated top of class. Flew frontline sorties in Afghan, subsequently qualified as an Apache commander.
