Rishi Sunak and Steve Barclay didn’t lift a finger to prevent today’s strikes, despite the obvious risks to the public. They drove NHS staff to strike, refused to negotiate, and now pose as helpless bystanders. Patients will be in no doubt who is to blame for this chaos.

@timricketts_ I think the problem is that the person who assessed didn’t ask a prescriber to review them and consider prescribing.
I found tons of issues as staff nurse and had a good idea of what the problem is. That didn’t mean I bounced it to the GP.

Take a step back for a second. Forget your agendas.
Why are we getting non prescribers to review patients who may require medications? It is totally nonsensical, inefficient and often dangerous.
This isn’t just about MAPs, other groups are the same.

GIRF. Get It Right First Time. Doesn't apply to patient contacts it seems. Patient seen by a non prescriber in a building full of Doctors/Prescribers. (A Hospital). Diagnosed with Otitis Media. (Ear infection). Told to call GP tomorrow for antibiotics. The mind boggles.
