John Henry spoke on the Red Sox slow start to 2026 and the “sell the team”chants at Fenway, via email with @SBJ:
“Fans get frustrated…. The Sox looked terrible for (their) first 25 games. I remember a plane flying overhead when we (Liverpool) were beating Manchester United 7-0 that read ‘FSG OUT!’… It doesn’t mean you ignore them, it means you work harder – you don’t settle for mediocrity. You have to win."

There are no excuses for this collapse. The team was injury free until last night. They played most of the season without JT and won. Was it the players? The coaching? I don’t know but it was awful.
And yes you can be a fan of the team and still criticize when they play bad

I’ve been a Celtics fan for 66 years and I’ve never seen a complete collapse of this team like we saw in this series. Leading 3-1 with 2 blowouts the wheels came off the bus. Embiid was the difference, no one could cover him. Shooting 3’s seemed to be foreign to the Celtics.

But at least Alonso and Bregman can play 1B and 3B.

The Red Sox offense stinks, but the guys who most of us targeted this past offseason (or we wished were still here) — Isaac Parades, Alex Bregman, Rafael Devers and Pete Alonso — are hitting a combined .231 with a .677 OPS to start the year. Screwed no matter what.

@Gordo19571 Some out here were upset because I wasn’t thrilled with the Cora firing. TBH I think it was past time for him to go. Over managing and sloppy play. But he wasn’t the main problem, it’s a lack of talent in the pen and in the infield. Even Anthony … too much pressure on him.

There is no question that at times Cora has over managed and had it bite him in the ass, but he also has developed a lot of good talent.
Unfortunately, getting talent has not been a priority of Henry and Breslow.

Alex Cora is as good a Baseball man as I’ve ever been around. Loves the game and the people in it. He cares deeply. Didn’t deserve to be fired. He’ll get another job as soon as he wants one.

@usafss74 Totally I am not against a change at the top. Sometimes you need that but to suggest the biggest problem is the manager is crazy.
Maybe they need a 3B? Some relievers?
Also why not give Tek the chance to manage?
