PRAYER FOR THE NATION
@citizentvkenya @ntvkenya @KTNNewsKE @StateHouseKenya @Kenyajudiciary @lawsocietykenya Almighty God, hear the cry of Your people. Kenya bleeds from corruption, injustice, and betrayal. Our hospitals stand empty of medicine, our schools remain unsafe for children, and our leaders turn blind eyes to suffering. Lord, protect this nation from every demon of greed, violence, and deception. Rise against the corruption that drains our land. Let every scheme of the wicked collapse, let every lie be exposed, and let every throne built on deceit be torn down. May those who steal from the poor never find peace in their plans, and may their power wither like grass in the sun.
Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of the Lord pursue them. May their plots recoil upon their own heads, and the violence they planned fall upon themselves. Lord, strip away the masks of false holiness and reveal the truth of every hidden deal. Upon the wicked those who steal from the poor, profit from suffering, glorify corruption, or shield oppressors let their power crumble, their schemes fail, and their names be erased from honor. May their hands never prosper, and may their lies be shattered in the light of Your justice. May those who defend evil share in the ruin of those they protect. Let their credibility collapse before all people. May the day come when they cry out and find no answer, for they closed their ears to the cries of the poor. Let the voices of justice thunder louder than the whispers of corruption. May the wicked stumble in their own traps, and may their legacy be consumed by the truth of Your judgment. Almighty God, restore Kenya. Guard our children, heal our sick, and comfort grieving families. Let no false promise deceive us, no secret deal destroy us, and no corrupt leader silence us. Protect the innocent, strengthen the righteous, and raise leaders who serve with honesty and compassion. Let Your mercy cleanse this land, and let Your judgment fall upon those who betray it. May Kenya rise in righteousness, protected by Your hand, free from the chains of corruption, and covered by Your mercy forever. AMEN

an honest leader doesn’t contradict themselves by saying “I’ll accept the results” while at the same time deflecting responsibility with “God will decide.” That’s not accountability, it’s evasion. When leaders invoke God’s plan to shield themselves, they blur the line between faith and governance, leaving citizens trapped in corruption, brutality, and denial of basic needs. The contradiction is clear: if one truly respects democracy, then the people’s will not divine cover should be the measure. Using religion as a fallback is a way of avoiding scrutiny, and it undermines the principle of responsibility.

The incident today is tragic, lives shattered, families broken, and communities left in grief. Yet as the smoke rises, politicians arrive not with solutions but with cameras. They gather to display empty empathy, to flood social media with rehearsed sorrow, while avoiding the truth that negligence, corruption, and incompetence lit the path to this disaster.Policies failed, safety standards ignored, funds mismanaged and still no one takes liability. Instead, leaders turn pain into a stage, performing compassion while refusing accountability. Their duty was to protect, but their negligence became the fuel of tragedy. This is not just about fire; it is about a society betrayed. When corruption becomes routine, when incompetence is tolerated, and when empathy is performed instead of lived, every disaster becomes proof of political failure.True leadership is not found in photo‑ops or scripted sympathy. It is found in responsibility, reform, and the courage to dismantle the systems of corruption that keep repeating our agony. Until then, every tragedy will remain a mirror reflecting how deeply our leaders have failed us.

This attitude of politicians thinking we shall just move on, only shows incompetence. They cling to power without accountability, hiding in the name of “God’s plan.” Kenyans are surviving corruption, brutality, and denial of basic needs like healthcare, roads, and fair prices. We must stop using God as cover for failure. What we need is respect, justice, and responsibility.
English

When will Mama Taifa call for accountability to the elite who exploit citizens, police brutality, corruption, and negligence of rights. A day when Kenyans will not just survive, but live with dignity, sustainable healthcare, roads, and fair prices, not systems that exploit. We don’t need staged prayers for cameras, we need justice, competence, and solidarity with the people.

Today’s fire incident will sadly become another theater show from our politicians. Instead of urgent solidarity with parents and students, we’ll see late arrivals, staged emotions, and media spectacles. This was a national disaster, not a stage for optics. True leadership is presence in pain, not performance in palaces.

I learnt with profound shock and devastation, the death of 16 students at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru County, with many more reportedly hospitalised with serious injuries.
As a country, we have lost young souls that were not only the centre of love and affection for their families, friends and our country, but were also being moulded to take up poisitions of leadership during their time.
I lack words to comfort the grieving parents and siblings of these precious girls, for indeed, their pain is indescribable.
We expect expeditious investigations to establish the cause of this fire, enable the affected families to get justice, and avert any recurrence.
May the souls of our deceased children rest in peace, as we wish the ones in hospitals quick recovery.

The tragic fire at Utumishi Girls should have been treated as a national disaster, demanding immediate solidarity, presence, and action. Instead, what we witnessed was a disturbing lack of competence. Politicians and elites chose to gather in Safari Park for prayers, arriving hours late to the actual scene, and then summoning media to dramatize their emotions. This is not leadership. It is performance. At a time when parents and students needed empathy and support, leaders prioritized optics over responsibility. Cancelling or relocating the prayer to the school grounds would have sent a powerful message of unity. Instead, the disconnect between ceremony and crisis revealed how far removed our leadership is from the pain of ordinary citizens. We must demand accountability. Fires in schools are not isolated accidents; they are systemic failures. They require coordinated emergency response, counseling for survivors, and reforms to prevent recurrence. Any other theatrics should not be entertained.True leadership is not about being seen as holy in palaces. It is about standing with victims in their darkest hour.

Our hearts and prayers are with the families who have lost their beloved daughters in the tragic fire at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil.
No words can truly ease the pain of losing young lives filled with promise, hope, and dreams for the future. As a nation, we mourn with the parents, guardians, teachers, and fellow students who are enduring this unimaginable tragedy.
Our immediate attention is focused on the rescue of those affected, the treatment of the injured, and support for their families, while investigations continue into the cause of the fire.
May God grant comfort and strength to the grieving families during this painful time.
Poleni sana.

The Utumishi Girls fire was a national disaster, yet leaders chose optics over action. Prayers in Safari Park, late arrivals at the scene, and staged emotions for cameras exposed a failure of competence. Parents and students needed immediate solidarity, not theatrics. This disconnect between real crisis management and public image management shows how far removed our leadership is from the pain of ordinary citizens.

We have arrived at Utumishi Girls Senior School in Gilgil to condole with the families and the school community following last night's dormitory fire tragedy.
We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the girls we lost in this painful incident and wish a quick recovery to the injured.
We shall issue a comprehensive statement on the incident in due course.

When wananchi are struggling with the high cost of living, insecurity, police Brutality and unemployment, it is shameful for headlines to prioritize political theatrics over real issues. Media must stop failing us with distractions and start amplifying the voices of ordinary citizens whose daily battles deserve urgent attention.
English

Imagine the energy leaders spend calling press conferences and mobilizing the media over ethnic disputes. If that same energy were directed toward exposing corruption, strengthening accountability, and solving citizen problems, Kenya’s politics would be a force for progress rather than division. The media too should resist amplifying ethnic quarrels and instead shine a spotlight on the issues that truly matter to citizens — corruption, governance, and service delivery.
English

Across Kenya, corruption has become the responsibility politicians embrace, while citizen duty is neglected and public trust betrayed. Today we witnessed yet leaders parade “charity” as if it were generosity. In truth, what is presented as kindness is public money repackaged as patronage. This is bribery in cultural costume, taxpayer resources diverted to buy loyalty, cleanse reputations, and silence accountability. Leaders who fail to deliver clean water, healthcare, education, and security suddenly appear generous during festivals or crises, staging spectacles instead of service. True leadership is not selective generosity timed to religious or cultural celebrations. It is consistent delivery of public goods, protection of citizen rights, and stewardship of resources. Until Kenyans reject these rituals of political absolution, corruption will continue to thrive under the mask of mercy.
English

@StandardKenya Goats for Eid aren’t kindness, they’re corruption in costume. Public money repackaged as charity to buy loyalty while Nairobi sinks in neglect. This is patronage politics, bribery disguised as mercy, accountability erased

When justice actors pursue personal claims within their own courts, legitimacy is strained a conflict of interest that weakens trust. At the same time, demanding 124m without promotion reflects the pressure of blocked advancement, where compensation is sought as a substitute. Yet in public service, such demands is greed rather than fairness. Ultimately governance depends on accountability, integrity and service to the collective good, not private benefit.

This is the problem of Judges litigating before Courts where they serve. The litigation was ill advised and shows the greed of the Judges, irregardless(sic) of the wrongs of Uhuru Kenyatta and his two legal advisors.

@NelsonHavi The question is, what's the 124m for? They weren't sworn in meaning they weren't promoted, and were working in their initial capacity, and being renumerated adequately for it. A new boss came in and promoted them ...

Today at 1455hrs At Moi International Airport, I witnessed harassment and double standards: pedestrians are stopped, interrogated, forced to Issue identification and forced to justify their presence, while drivers pass unchecked. This is not security - it is selective enforcement. Rules must be applied equally, without bias, without privilege, and without harassment. Public institutions are being run like personal entities, and this is why oversight by KAA is absent. Aviation & General Security Consultants (AGSC Ltd.) Must be held accountable. Authority must serve the people, not entitlement. Stop this misuse, stop this double standard. @KenyaAirports, @AmnestyKenya @Kenyajudiciary @IPOA_KE
