Flexion of the finger is almost there, I just need to slightly increase the range of motion. The skin used here is also twice as thick as the final multilayer build. Finger extension is entirely passive, reducing the total actuator count! I'll recast the skin layers tonight.

My latest humanoid finger design in action! As suggested by some, I've added another tendon to hold the proximal phalanx in place to enable 2-DOF movement. Trigger finger action is now possible. Next up, adding 2x stabilizers and enabling the integrated flex sensor.

10 years already...

A sneak peak at the new actuator we've been prototyping since early last year. Finally, it's refined enough to demo! The EFAM (Electrofluidic Artificial Muscle). Lightweight, water-powered, and electrolysis-based. Tomorrow we swap copper electrodes for 316L stainless steel.

@mkjbaran What type of working fluid are you using? We've developed an identical one that uses water. Curious to learn more about your approach!

No fancy stuff. Low cost scales. I built this entire control system from scratch using budget parts (Ali/Temu) 🤣

Robotics Journeymen Weekly Update #7! This week I've been working on head design, and received electronics for the robot and BLDC winder. @SlimActualX1 and I have been working on 2 new types of artificial muscles and nanomaterial coatings for our robot as well! Let's dive in.

Looks like we're building our own BLDCs soon @yacineMTB. Synthetic muscles, humanoids AND drones. Who says I can't do ALL THREE?

Good progress today on the hand. Now that I know silicone can be a viable passive return solution, next will be refining the attaching points, tension, and shore hardness.
