A progressive remaining in a race without any chance of winning, with the possibility that they could be a spoiler for another progressive and help elect a more moderate candidate, is actively detrimental to the Left and would genuinely be better off running a centrist campaign.

I'm proud to stand with @ReElectNydia and New Yorkers to endorse @ReynosoBrooklyn for Congress. Antonio is a leader who has always fought for working families. As our next Congressman, he'll deliver for our communities in New York and across the nation.

Nativism is a fundamentally reactionary, backwards, anti-immigrant position, whether it’s coming from outright fascists like Paladino or ultras/liberals attacking DSA I’m not better than you because I was born and raised here. Both sides of my family came to NYC from elsewhere

I appreciate the work that went into this report, but I just can't see the conclusions they're drawing from the publicly available data, there's clear associations with mass external campaigns vs internal focused work (and internal dysfunction) in the member growth for 2025.

New in DemLeft: Andrew D. and Hazel W. brings a completed report that examines what drives membership growth and engagement. democraticleft.dsausa.org/2026/02/10/sta…

Remember that the people who constantly tell us “the real way to win the working class” view the guy who can be summed up as “Jasmine Crockett identity politics with Maoism on top” as one of their shining lights.

“If you don’t like AOC then why do you like Cori?” because AOC is co-opted by white folks and Cori ain’t. white liberals and socdems love AOC because she’s theirs. Cori is too real for them. next

I stopped listening to Chapo years ago, but they were down on AOC and clearly disliked her as early as 2019. It’s just a fact that as all these podcasters have turned on her, her overall popularity has only increased based on actual data.
Sarah@Sarah_pdx

the latest Chapo episode is interesting because they’re quite pessimistic about AOC, though they *did* defend and support Zohran and ofc Bernie a lot. i think people are making a mistake if they underestimate the degree of real skepticism that exists about her.

BRG is very insecure in talking about electoral strategy because as it turns out, Cori Bush was much more dependent on middle class white support for her coalition than AOC was! He knows this, hence why he disabled replies.

Over the next couple years left-wing posters are either going to gradually rationalize supporting AOC or fall down the anti-AOC right-wing grift. They’ll end up outright supporting the right after engagement collapses except with right-wingers. Very predictable.

@mlle___p depends on if “prevent endorsement” means “withhold the national stamp of approval” or “preempt the vast majority of chapters that would endorse her from doing so” the former would have no effect on the campaign. the latter would and would drive >60% of chapters to leave

@escargotpro_ it would probably be a more compelling argument if we didn't have actual electoral evidence AOC has gotten increasingly strong with working class New Yorkers (to the point she was stronger in the South Bronx than Astoria in 2024) as her decisions are increasingly criticized.
