@CFarman1 Good point Chris. I have had to move in many positions to to appreciate a work of art. I can only assume the NG tried everything to reduce the lumens but then a duty of care to the patrons and staff to not have it too dark. You are right though a fantastic exhibition 💙

The Jeremy Robbin's book is fascinating, thank you for recommending it. The paintings in the Zurbarán exhibition are incredible but the lighting in the gallery is appalling. Everyone seemed to be bobbing their heads to see the paintings through the reflective glare. One of the worst lit art shows I have ever seen.

Just back from London and Jeremy Robbins’ Zurbaran book waiting. Looking forward to this. Also the Zurbaran exhibition catalogue is excellent 💙

At the Michaelina Wautier exhibition in the RA these paintings hang side by side. Her earliest known portrait and probably her last known portrait. Look how her technique has developed. Stunning progression 💙
