Elon - great idea to backup humanity - Note - archmission.org actually did deliver 3 massive libraries of 30 million pages of human knowledge and history, plus 30,000 books to the moon already. Two libraries landed successfully and will be there for at least 50 million years. However, you can take the mission to next-level - and that’s amazing! This is not about one instance - it works because of massive redundancy and frequent updates. But here is my ask: open it up - include us and all other curated archives that can fit - backup all perspectives not just one! This gives future historians the freedom to understand and make up their own minds about the history of civilization. Plus - we figured out a technology stack that has optimal density, durability and recoverability by different tech level recipients - and even different kinds of intelligent life (not just humans). Because on million to billion year timescales it might be a new form of life that finds it… We have thought this topic through more deeply and technically than anyone else. Bring us into your initiative - we are the right partners for the job. And we are not for profit (for real… ;) Remember when I gave you that crystal Foundation disk for Falcon Heavy? Let’s do it again … but bigger! Read about our Billion Year Archive project and reach out to me. We are ready, willing and able to execute this mission. @elonmusk

@MattHoerl @elonmusk The original 5 crystals with Asimov’s Foundation Trilogy will last for billions of years. One is orbiting around the sun in the glovebox of Elon’s cherry red tesla roadster, another is in Elon’s personal collection.

@elonmusk we gave you a 5d crystal with the foundation trilogy for the first falcon heavy launch using @archmission tech, more backups are needed, especially to de risk the first starship to mars (in case it’s our only attempt)

@elonmusk @xai Elon did you forget? archmission.org put Foundation on the Tesla orbiting the sun with you! … and we landed all knowledge on the Moon twice (once a crash, once a softer landing). We have the tech - and it’s not oxide. Let’s do it again but do it right

@elonmusk - remember the archmission.org sent Foundation with you to Mars (still on the Tesla), and we landed a vast library on the Moon (twice, but needs annual updates). We want to help with the new Foundation - we use new tech (including 5D and DNA and more). Ping me.

Nice work by the @xAI team on Grokipedia.com! The goal here is to create an open source, comprehensive collection of all knowledge. Then place copies of that etched in a stable oxide in orbit, the Moon and Mars to preserve it for the future. Foundation.

The Great Pause Project is an open-source initiative, offering a platform for documenting the COVID-19 global pandemic. @GreatPausePro hosts many voices, featuring content from familial, social, creative, and scientific networks globally through a rich compilation of photographs and written experiences that emerged during 2020. Selected quotes from surveys and contributed photos illustrate the a range of experience: collective isolation, overlapping crises, social and political unrest, and hopes and dreams for the future. Remarkably, this archive etched into nickel nanofiche has become a part of the @archmission Lunar Library forever preserved on the surface of the Moon. 🌕

Congratulations to @archmission for sending a time capsule of human knowledge, art, and culture to the Moon. This is the stuff of my dreams. 💓

WE LANDED ON THE MOON! Tonight I am reflecting on the incredible privilege it’s been to attempt 3 moon landings in 5 years — the most ever outside a nation state. Feeling grateful to play a small part in the United States return to the moon since 1972. I co-founded @archmission to preserve human knowledge, art, and culture for future generations. Together with an incredible team, we’ve completed 10 archival missions across the solar system. From our inaugural @SpaceX mission with @elonmusk putting a data crystal inside the glovebox of his Cherry Red Tesla Roadster, to sending the first commercial payload to the lunar surface with SpaceIL, and now, as part of @Int_Machines Nova-C mission with @NASA, we can now say we have a billion-year backup on Moon. Grateful to the our content providers like @Wikipedia , @internetarchive, @SETIInstitute, and @longnow, to my collaborators on the team @novaspivack, @Nick_Slavin, and @62MileClub, and to friends like @marylizbender who I met along this journey. We’ve sent messages to the far distant future. We hope it is met with profound curiosity and love. Signing off for now to build something beautiful 𖡼 Ad Astra 🚀

Today, @Int_Machines’s NOVA-C lander may become the first American-built mission to land on the moon in more than 50 years. Thanks to our friends and partners at @archmission, data from the Rosetta Project, our archive of the world’s languages, is landing on the moon with it.

Tonight the Arch Mission Foundation is making it's third attempt at landing our 30 million page Lunar Library on the Moon (archmission.org) -- etched in metal and nearly indestructible it contains Wikipedia, Rosetta Project, Panlex, Project Gutenberg, selections from Internet Archive, the Earthling Project, Lifeship, ALAA, thousands of books, all world languages, cultures, religions, history, science ... and even David Copperfield's magic secrets ...plus many vaults of special content (but no tardigrades!). Wish us luck!
