Here is part 2 of my plumbing training videos created by @NotebookLM. My goal is to show that it is now possible to create AI training videos on pretty much anything. These will be incredibly useful for apprentices and hobbyists. In the age of AI, you can learn and do anything!

I know Silicon Valley startups don't want to hear this.....
But the combination of someone in the trades with deep domain expertise and Claude Code will run circles around your generic software.
I talked to Cory LaChance this morning, a mechanical engineer in industrial piping construction in Houston. He normally works with chemical plants and refineries, but now he also works with the terminal
He reached out in a DM a few days ago and I was so fired up by his story, I asked him if we could record the conversation and share it.
He built a full application that industrial contractors are using every day. It reads piping isometric drawings and automatically extracts every weld count, every material spec, every commodity code.
Work that took 10 minutes per drawing now takes 60 seconds. It can do 100 drawings in five minutes, saving days of time.
His co-workers are all mind blown, and when he talks to them, it's like they are speaking different languages.
His fabrication shop uses it daily, and he built the entire thing in 8 weeks. During those 8 weeks he also had to learn everything about Claude Code, the terminal, VS Code, everything.
My favorite quote from him was when he said, "I literally did this with zero outside help other than the AI. My favorite tools are screenshots, step by step instructions and asking Claude to explain things like I'm five."
Every trades worker with deep expertise and a willingness to sit down with Claude Code for a few weekends is now a potential software founder.
I can't wait to meet more people like Cory.

Powell: "The thing a good number of people on the committee are concerned about is the very very low level of job creation. If you adjust what has been the trend job creation over the past 6 months for what we think is the overstatement due to overcounting, effectively there is 0 net job creation in the private sector"

Walmart has filed a patent for systems that use AI to predict demand and automatically adjust prices. It is installing electronic shelf labels across all US stores. Labels can be remotely updated automatically. The patent that "helps merchants make decisions" is a machine that makes the decision and hands a merchant the paperwork?

@Uttam1vish @sweatystartup Financial autistics like this are all the same, they think a business is just a numbers game. No big deal... the collateral damage of their motivated hubris is only making capitalism unworkable, leading to the downfall of society
English

@sweatystartup The financial structure is interesting, but daycare is extremely operations-heavy.
Recruiting and retaining qualified staff, maintaining safety ratios, and regulatory compliance can make or break the model.
Curious how you plan to solve the operator quality problem at scale.
English

Business idea:
Raise $25,000,000 to build 5 premium 15,000 SF daycares. 3 acre lots.
3 businesses:
1 is the real estate holding company that owns the properties. $500k annual rent each NNN. Portfolio worth $35 million + a few months after you open them.
2nd is the development company. 10% construction fee means $2,500,000 in revenue there.
3rd is the daycare itself as a franchise model. I use my reach to recruit the ops team and then the franchisees. Collect $1.5 m + of franchise buy-in fees and 10% of revenue. At $300 a week per kid and 200 kids operator takes home $500k + as well.
After this test run proves successful you raise $100 million and build 25 of them 18 months after the first.
Build biz and real estate holdings with $100m of equity in 5 years time.

@RossDellenger Auburn's got some organizational and game plan issues but the refs cost them this game.
Objectively, two blown calls and one no-call cost Auburn this game.

The same traits that make you brilliant also make you delusional
Keith Sakata, MD@KeithSakata
[9/12] The uncomfortable truth is we’re all vulnerable. The same traits that make you brilliant: • pattern recognition • abstract thinking • intuition They live right next to an evolutionary cliff edge. Most benefit from these traits. But a few get pushed over.

Newsmax host Greg Kelly said on his show that Ghislaine Maxwell might be a victim and that there was a rush to judgment.
At least 40 women have credibly accused Ghislaine Maxwell of either directly abusing them, grooming them, or facilitating their sexual exploitation on behalf of Jeffrey Epstein.
Some of them have detailed these allegations on camera.
Kelly suggests that only the media and prosecutors are the source of these allegations — again, 40 women have credibly accused Ghislaine Maxwell of various forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual violence.
This is not some creation of the media and prosecutors.
In fact, it was some in the media and in law enforcement who shielded Epstein for much too long.

@the24sight Tom you really need to cover the story of Luis Leon, 82, Chilean national who fled to the US in 1987 fleeing torture in Chile from Pinochet. Recently lost his green card and went to an immigration office to replace it, swept up by ICE and ended up in a Guatemalan hospital. Insane

@OpenAI @sama @AndrewMayne Nice, simple and smooth presentation for your first podcast!
There is a lot hype before knowing enough of the nature of ANNs yet it's a paradigm shift in computing and deserves a weekly? monthly? podcast. I hope to hear from some more OpenAI employees on this podcast

The Acting US Attorney of the SDNY resigned today, and she sent this letter yesterday to the Attorney General explaining why she refused to drop the charges against NYC's mayor. Read the whole thing, but the last two pages are in the screenshots. static01.nyt.com/newsgraphics/d…

@RobertJMolnar Absolute garbage campaign. Parading around Liz Cheney looking for imaginary undecided moderate R votes, pissing everyone off. In the mean time not pushing hard the single greatest political advantage the Democrats have EVER had in abortion. Idiotic
English

Narrator: She did not, in fact, run a perfect campaign. She lost to a 78 year old dementia ridden microphone blowjob giving convicted felon facing sentencing in 3 weeks biz fraud who owes $500 mill for it and another $100 mill for defaming the victim of his sexual assault whilst having a 4% unemployment rate, inflation at historical norms, and stock market at record highs. You did not, in fact, run a perfect race

@bcmerchant This was a bad bill that was written by the private equity and VCs that own the big media companies. It would have given them the vast majority of the $ and pulled up the ladder
Hopefully there will be something in the future that will actually help independent journalism
