One lottery note that I confirmed with NBA folks familiar with today's proceedings: There won't be a "Pelicans envelope". There will be a Hawks envelope and a Bucks envelope, and as a fan, no mental gymnastics are required. When you see the Hawks logo, that's the Hawks' pick.

@Jonesy2x4 Agreed on all accounts. Obv fit doesn't matter but even though it looked iffy to me at first, the thought of creating modern day Jokic/AG in the aggregate with JJ/Booz speaks to me. Archetypes like NAW/CJ would eat off that gravity

@Jonesy2x4 @Fiddles Yeah not arguing that. Biggest evidence was Dyson actually getting to play point guard and not have to cover for Trae every possession on defense. Only one player on the team truly had less value without Trae and it was Zacch who is arguably the least developed

@Jonesy2x4 I think Trae was just introverted and not a vocal leader. Would it really shock you if he was what CJ is as a vet for some young team in 5-7 years?

@Jonesy2x4 Definitely to start his career but last 2-3 years he really did improve in that area. There was prob some resentment of the bullshit on the court with his effort waning but don't think any of the guys on the current roster would say anything bad about Trae as a leader off it.

@Jonesy2x4 Multiple things can be true. Pre-Onsi FO's made plenty of mistakes building around him, but he made some silly asks without understanding what he needed. Probably fucked up bc of it, but he battled and would still be on the team if he hadn't played hurt and sapped his athleticism
