Today in Yerevan, Armenian Foreign Minister @AraratMirzoyan and I announced a bilateral framework agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) and signed a Strategic Partnership Charter and MOU on Critical Minerals, furthering the goals established during @POTUS’s historic peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We also discussed the peace process and Armenia’s upcoming elections.

BREAKING: George Deek, Israel's Special Envoy to the Christian World, says "We never got involved or took position in the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, per se", which led to the ethnic cleansing of Christian Armenians and their Churches from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
You have to admire that carefully placed "per se". The amount of heavy lifting it does for Israel's image in the Christian world would've been commendable had it not been a typical hasbara escape hatch, absolving Israel of any responsibility or accountability, and invariably collapsing under the weight of Israel's own record during that war.
In no particular order:
⁃According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), between 2016 and 2020, leading up to the 44 Day War, roughly 69% of weapons exports to Azerbaijan came from Israel, in a war that butchered 5,000 Armenian soldiers, barely adults. So neutral.
⁃The highly advanced Israeli weapons systems included loitering munitions (suicide drones) such as the IAI Harop and Elbit SkyStriker, Hermes 900 reconnaissance drones, Spike anti-tank guided missiles, and LORA surface-to-surface ballistic missiles.
⁃Israeli weapons manufacturer Aeronautics Defense Systems used a suicide drone by attacking Armenian positions during a sale presentation at the behest of Azeri officials who requested a live demonstration.
⁃Israeli military personnel trained Azeri soldiers in piloting drones.
⁃Azerbaijan supplies 65% of Israel's crude oil imports, which are pumped via the BTC pipeline through Georgia and Turkey. A clear energy security and arms agreement: you send oil, we give you weapons.
So neutral.
⁃In December 2023, Azerbaijan effectively blockaded the Lachin Corridor, the only route between Armenia and Artsakh. A starvation campaign ensued for 9 months, targeting hundreds of thousands of Armenian indigenous Christians: Food shortages, supermarket shelves emptied, families lining up for hours for a piece of bread. No fuel. No medicine. Cancer patients requiring urgent treatment were stranded. Malnutrition. Miscarriages.
George Deek was Ambassador at that time. He was there in Baku.
Did he voice concern for the besieged Christians in Artsakh? No. His country enabled it. Haaretz, an Israeli outlet, even published a bombshell report entitled "Israel's fingerprints all over the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh".
To quote the Special Christian envoy himself:
"When violence against a vulnerable minority is ignored because acknowledging it is politically inconvenient, there is a name for it: abandonment."
For Israel, the defense of the Armenian Christian presence in Artsakh was politically inconvenient.
That is why they were complicit in the ethnic cleansing of 150,000 indigenous Christian Armenians from their 2,000-year-old homeland.

At Yerevan Museum Night I saw one of the few surviving Julfa tombstones. It's exquisite to behold, now imagine it times thousands. In the awe I couldn't help but also feel disgust for Ilham Aliyev @presidentaz. How could anyone, however low he is, consent to destroy such beauty?

🇦🇲🇪🇺The Revival of “Եվրոպա/Europe”: The Armenian Cultural Beacon in 19th-Century Vienna
Among the many reflections of 19th-century Armenian intellectual life abroad, the Viennese publication “Եվրոպա” (“Europe”) stands out as an exceptional literary and cultural achievement. First printed in 1847 and published until 1863, this political, artistic, and educational weekly — later reissued as a biweekly — became a pioneering bridge between Armenian thought and the broader European intellectual sphere.
The Armenian Voice from Vienna
In an era when Vienna was a major center of cultural exchange and scholarly exploration, “Europe” became a platform for expressing Armenian perspectives on politics, literature, art, and education. The publication was not limited to local or diasporan themes — it engaged readers with European trends and ideas, fostering a cosmopolitan dialogue among Armenians dispersed across the continent and beyond.
Each issue of “Europe” featured essays, reports, and literary reflections, portraying the challenges and aspirations of the Armenian people during a period of political unrest and cultural revival. The newspaper chronicled the emerging national identity, spread enlightenment, and provided Armenian writers, artists, and educators with a voice to express their views in a rapidly changing world.
The original pages — such as the one shown from 1847 — are not merely historical artifacts; they are living documents, bearing witness to the resilience and refinement of a culture in motion. The elegant Armenian typography, detailed graphics, and densely printed columns reflect a deep commitment to preserving knowledge, promoting education, and engaging thoughtfully with the surrounding world.

The 1218 Bilingual Inscription in Vitovnica: A Symbol of the Ancient Dialogue Between Armenia and Serbia
Vitovnica, Serbia — In the very heart of the Balkans, nestled among hills and monasteries, hides a unique artifact that connects two nations: the Armenians and the Serbs. The inscription, dating back to 1218 and written in both Armenian and Serbian, stands as a rare testament to cultural and spiritual interaction during the Middle Ages.
Historical Context
The 13th century was an era of crusades, monastic reforms, and diplomatic missions. The Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia actively interacted with European powers, including the Byzantine Empire and the Balkans. During this period, Armenian monks, merchants, and pilgrims traveled throughout the Christian world, leaving traces of their presence behind.
The Vitovnica inscription, presumably linked to Armenian clergyman or craftsmen, demonstrates that Armenians not only visited Serbia but were respected enough to have their language immortalized alongside Serbian.
Linguistic Uniqueness
The inscription is executed in two languages — Armenian and Old Serbian. This is not merely a translation, but a parallel message reflecting the equality of the two cultures. The Armenian text is written in classical Grabar, while the Serbian text is written in the Cyrillic script characteristic of monastic inscriptions of that era.
Such bilingual monuments are a rarity, even in the multilingual Middle Ages. They speak of mutual respect, diplomacy, and spiritual closeness.

🤖 Kremlin-linked bots began laying the groundwork for a “Ukrainian scenario” in Armenia
According to the Bot Blocker project, the Russian disinformation network “Matryoshka” had been spreading fake stories since March claiming that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was allegedly preparing for war with Russia.
The videos claimed that:
▪️ France and Armenia had signed a “secret deal”;
▪️ NATO instructors had arrived in the country;
▪️ Pashinyan would “start a war with Russia” after the elections.
The campaign even used actors from The Office via the Cameo platform, later adding AI-generated voiceovers.
Two months later, Putin publicly compared the situation in Armenia to Ukraine.

Open Letter to the People of Armenia 🇦🇲
I am addressing you from political imprisonment, where I have been confined for my struggle for a European future. I am proud to fight for my country’s historical mission, and imprisonment cannot be an obstacle to this.
I want to express my admiration and respect for Armenian society, which has managed to secure a European perspective through its own hard work in a difficult situation. Who better than Georgians and Armenians know the meaning of the struggle and labor for freedom, statehood, independence, and true peace?
In the 35-year history of our independence, a historical moment has arrived where our region has a great chance for a breakthrough toward freedom, peace, and development.
The presence of European leaders in Yerevan filled me with joy and respect toward you. I am glad that an event of such historical importance for the region took place specifically in Yerevan—something that would have been difficult to imagine not long ago.
Russia cannot stop our peoples' aspiration for freedom, and I want you to know that we do not intend to surrender; rather, we intend to win this hybrid war against Russia. The South Caucasus, with its unique history, will be a region of peace, development, and freedom within our native European family, and today, Armenia has taken a massive step toward this!

The Apostles Thaddeus and Bartholomew brought Christianity to Armenia per tradition.
Major monasteries were built over their tombs.
The one in Iran remains intact and preserved.
The one in Turkey is abandoned and ruined.

Did you know one of the 12 apostles is buried in Iran? Who? Saint Thaddeus. This is Qara Kelisa, built in 66 AD where St. Thaddeus was martyred. It was renovated in the 3rd and 7th centuries. In 2008 it joined the UNESCO World Heritage List with several other old Iranian churches
