BREAKING: Abuja residents came out in their numbers this morning to protest against the ongoing construction at Jabi Lake, Abuja.

Bandits for road, take flight na. Schools no good, go private na. Land cost e no come de, steal na. Hospital no de, go abroad na. Salary too small, join with business na. Work no de, employ yourself na. You go think say these things have not been normalized.

Is anyone else experiencing this horrendous mobile and data connection? I cant make a call and speak for up to a minute! What the hell is going on????

Our parents were bullied into this complacency, and constantly adjusting. We, the young people can say enough. We can demand better. Change can only happen if we all decide enough. We all deserve to live a dignified life.

Lastly, the only difference between the youth of Nepal and that of Nigeria is that, the Nepalese youth truly believed they deserved better. I hope Nigerians recognize they deserve better too. Sooner rather than later. #SaveJabiPark

Perhaps this could be because young people (also the highest demographic at the park) have never seen what a democratic republic looks like. In recent times,Nigerians have not seen a successful demonstration of how powerful their voices are and we have adopted quite some apathy.

I am super bitter at the lack of vision our leaders have. To think Jabi Lake is not a natural body, someone created it. If Wike truly wanted an estate by a lake he could also artificially create one and build all he deems necessary. Not to convert this one into “Times Square”
