Celestia Mammothon App Breakdown #10: Hakatchi @hakatchi is an onchain, Tamagotchi-inspired game where you raise ghosts born from ancient graves. Built by an all-female team, known as Mochi Mochi Dev, Hakatchi uses @arguslabs World Engine (with @celestia underneath) to power a fully onchain pet-raising experience. Every moment you spend with your ghost, from feeding it, to cleaning its space, to unlocking its memories, is recorded forever onchain. 🔷 The Problem Loss of progress: Hakatchi is inspired by the classic Tamagotchi game, where players owned their own digital pets that they would have to take care of every day. But if you forgot to feed it or stopped checking in, your pet would die, along with all the experiences you shared. With Hakatchi however, nothing is lost. Every interaction, memory, and bond is permanently stored onchain - even the ghost character itself, which helps explain this theme - ghosts don’t die. Web3 is complicated: As you may already know, web3 onboarding has historically been a mess. You had to download a wallet, connect to a network, load up gas, and approve & sign transactions. With Hakatchi, no external wallet required. Just an email. 🔷 Uncovering the story Once you’re in, it’s just you & your ghost - bonding, growing, & unlocking “fragments of past memories”, which are minted as NFTs. The more you bond, the more memories you uncover, and the more memories you uncover, the more of their hidden story is revealed. 🔷 Looking Ahead According to the team, in the future, your Hakatchi will be able to communicate with your real-world friends’ ghosts, allowing you to share items & stories (memories). So that's all we know about Hakatchi so far, but what about the gameplay?
