This is a step forward IMO. FACT~ ID’s such as birth certificates have never had a single biological marker of sex. There is no central office that records people's chromosomes or genitalia. The science is clear: there is no single physiological or biological marker that allows for the simple categorisation of people as male or female. Gonads were once thought to define one’s sex. In the 1800s. By the 1950s scientists had identified at least six markers of sex: chromosomes, gonads, hormones, secondary sex characteristics, external genitalia and internal genitalia. While these markers may align along a female-typical or male-typical path, that’s not always the case. What’s more, each of these markers comes in more than two versions. For example, people are often assumed to have either XX or XY chromosomes, but some individuals are born with an extra X chromosome and others have a mosaic where each cell has one karyotype or the other. So while sex is commonly thought to be straightforward, consisting of two clear categories of male and female, the breadth of human physical variance is more complex than the categories suggest. The upshot: there are many biological markers of sex but none is decisive. Claiming that one factor is does not reflect the science of sex biology, and certainly can’t be used to determine who is a woman! @IndiaWilloughby

The vast majority of female athletes will cheer on the IOC if it finally supports a dedicated female category via once in a lifetime sex screen via cheek swab. It will ensure male athletes with trans identities or male DSDs do not compete in women's sport. sportandrightsalliance.org/olympics-sex-t…

It shouldn’t. They have a “sex at birth” like everyone else, and it’s coincidentally the same sex they have for life.

@MissJilianne @FurryXp @salltweets Jfc? Why didn't I think of that? I mean, it's almost as if only a predatory man would want access to women and little girls. It's almost as if men demanding access to women and girls are predators.... Fck sake.

@PompeySteph @Keir_Starmer Imagine. Dick-panderingb women causing harm to women. Instead of telling the men to get the hell out, it's a WOMEN'S group, they close. I hope these women enjoy the company of these Larping predators.

Breaking: Tonight, three more WIs said "No" we will be trans inclusive and are closing. Three more who were supporting women and often the vulnerable. The judgment that @Keir_Starmer said brought "clarity" has bought calamity, missery and heartbreak. Enough.

@jan_murray Yep. Sandie Peggie, Darlington nurses. So many women have the same story. That asshole Upton actually used Sandie waiting for him to leave before she went in to change as evidence of her bigotry! So now NOT taking your clothes off in front of a man is indefensible!

I was trying to explain to someone yesterday why women defend single-sex spaces. “Imagine you were forced into an enclosed space with a strange man and told to take your top off in front of him. No choice. No opting out.” “That’s different,” they said. “That’s basically sexual assault.” “Exactly,” I replied. “Now imagine the man is wearing women’s clothes - but you still know he’s a man.” You could literally see the penny drop. This is the grown-up version of being plied with cider at a party, shoved into a cupboard with a boy - then being told you’re frigid if you don’t do what he wants. Only now, frigid has been replaced with bigot.

No law requires sports courses or clubs to ban trans people. Yet instead of allowing this inclusive event to go ahead, anti-trans campaigners pushed to have it cancelled, denying opportunities to all women and girls.
Sex Matters@SexMattersOrg

It ‘shouldn’t have taken a Supreme Court judgment’ to tell the King’s Trust that it should not allow biological males ‘to punch women for sport’. @HJoyceGender on King Charles’ youth charity’s cancelled boxing course for disadvantaged girls dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

@TorenTYlfa @helenstaniland It is a special rule. A special rule for people with special feelz which have nothing to do with reality. A special rule to let them trample over the vast majority of the population. A rule to let them predate on women & girls. Stuff that rule.

Self‑ID isn’t a special rule for trans people @helenstaniland it’s just the basic principle that people are the primary source of truth about their own identity. When someone says they’re trans, they’re describing an internal experience only they can know. That’s not the same as making an external claim like “a billionaire is paying me,” which is something that can be verified or disproven. And the part that always gets missed: everyone already self-identifies. C1s people say “I’m a woman” or “I’m a man” without presenting chromosomes, medical records, or childhood documentation. We accept people’s identities in every other area of life religion, sexuality, culture, neuro divergence, names, pronouns, boundaries because the person living that experience is the one who knows it. Self‑ID simply applies that same standard to gender. It doesn’t erase biology, it doesn’t remove safeguards, and it doesn’t override material reality. It just recognises that gender identity isn’t something strangers can diagnose from the outside. Trans people aren’t asking for special treatment. They’re asking for the same recognition c1s people already receive without question. But of course I'm expecting you to still have a problem with this.
Helen Staniland@helenstaniland

@theklutzydom Have you not heard about self-id? If a person tells you they're trans, do you not necessarily believe them? If you say that billionaires are giving me money, you need to show your evidence.

@FurryXp @MissJilianne @salltweets You are being willfully obtuse. Any man. I don't care if he is dressed as Queen Victoria, wearing his mum's nightie,a cricket kit or a fully-tailored three-piece suit. Any man. ANY MAN entering women's spaces is a predator, larping as a woman or not.

We did more reading and studying than you ever did. We discovered autogynephiles and realized it was a fetish that drove them into women's spaces. We found out what cross-sex hormones do to kids health. We witnessed a plague of trans shooters. We're plenty educated
nyara@nyaraVT

Transphobia is a refusal of educating yourself on trans topics because it makes you feel strong when you can weaponise your ignorance to harm the powerless. It is also extremely profitable.

Today, in Iran, in the middle of a war, the regime executed a 19-year-old national wrestling champion for the crime of joining January protests. 💔 After signaling to the world, including President @realDonaldTrump, that they would halt executions of protesters, the regime has done the exact opposite. Three young protesters, Saleh Mohammadi, Mehdi Ghasemi, and Saeed Davoudi, were hanged in Qom after a sham trial. Reports indicate torture. Forced confessions. No access to chosen lawyers. Closed-door proceedings. No right to appeal. I call on @GlobalAthleteHQ to stand with Iranian athletes who are being silenced, imprisoned, and executed simply for raising their voices. This is not just about sports. This is about human dignity.
