On February 20, 2026, a special POCSO court in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, sentenced Ram Bhavan (50), a former junior engineer, and his wife Durgavati (47) to death by hanging.
They were convicted of sexually assaulting 33 minor boys and creating and selling over 2 lakh illegal videos internationally between 2010 and 2020.
The court called it a “rarest of rare” case.
Said the crimes were systematic and deeply disturbing.
The accused lured children with money, gifts, and video games.
The crimes were carried out with the involvement of his wife.
Victims were threatened for years.
They suffered severe physical and psychological harm.
Authorities recovered cash and multiple electronic devices.
Forensic analysis confirmed large amounts of illegal content.
The content was distributed through encrypted platforms.
Durgavati is also accused of influencing witnesses.
Another person from Delhi has been arrested.
CBI filed the charge sheet in 2021.
Charges were framed in 2023.
74 witnesses were examined in court.
Some victims still require medical treatment.
The court has ordered rehabilitation and psychological support.
₹10 lakh compensation has been announced for victims’ families.
