This is, of course, in addition to the deliberate targeting of 2SLGBTQIA+ people that this government continues to attack to score political points and distract from their failures. This bill needs to fail, but the UCP will slap their desks in support all the way through.

As backwards as Bill 25 already is, it also appears that the Métis flag may be included in the classroom ban if this legislation passed. This would be an absolute slap in the face to all us Métis and Treaty 6 peoples. You cannot erase us. #ableg cbc.ca/news/canada/ed…

@Mackenzieite @FortySacks @FistedFoucault Alberta is seeking independence from Canada, and even if it weren’t, statehood is a better option than staying in Canada. You clearly don’t understand what’s happening in the US, the demoncrats will share the same space in the US as the CPC does in Canada.

@ArminiusRex97 @FortySacks @FistedFoucault States don’t have the same level of autonomy over natural resource development as Canadian provinces. Ceding resource rights to Washington DC just in time for a Newsom/AOC ticket to come into power would be devastating.

Independence is impossible while landlocked in such a manner, specifically in that location. Think of the transit costs to ship your oil. Becoming a 51st state is funny, because you're going from having a 1/10th say to 1/51 of one.

🚨BREAKING: The 177,000 signature threshold has now been passed, officially clearing the requirement for an Alberta independence referendum on October 19th. This is a historic moment for Alberta and signature collection is still continuing.

BREAKING: The Alberta government tabled Bill 25 today, requiring teachers to present all topics in a neutral, impartial way and banning school boards from issuing statements on political or ideological issues outside of education.

@althiaraj Albertan here. 🙋‍♂️ Please no, we don’t want government funded pipelines. We want the Liberals to stop getting in the way and scaring away investors and proponents with anti oil and anti pipeline laws and regs.

If Trump really wants a fifty-first state, he has an opportunity this year. The support, the passion, & righteousness are all present - what's lacking is leadership & money.

@forsman_josh @TheBlackHorse65 Oh well, a much better alternative than being economically rinsed by Canada, oppressively taxed, dealing with anti-industry bills, extorted by native groups, AND being landlocked. Independence is what Alberta is seeking, but statehood is still better than remaining.

Not to defend the Alberta Seperatists; but the rest of Canada will rapidly fragment if they leave confederation; so they won't end up 'land-locked' in the way people imagine.

@forsman_josh Cool story. I was Canadian until the government betrayed us and other “Canadians” cheered it on. Independence is way more than pipelines, we are nothing alike.

I had a great time attending MLA @rebeccakschulz annual Politics and Prosecco event in Edmonton earlier this week. This event has become an opportunity for women in business, politics, and government to come together – not just to connect, but to share ideas, support one another, and strengthen the networks that help drive meaningful change. We need more women to run and lead, and that only happens when we create spaces where women support each other to step forward. Thank you to MLA Rebecca Schulz, MLA @tanya_fir, and the team of volunteers who made this event happen and continue to champion strong conservative women across Alberta.
