Living in the open countryside has its benefits but also its negatives when the wind decides to do its thing. 🙁 @RhondaT40 was not happy coming home to this.

@Tiggertagg1 @PremiumCrops From my experience, they sting you for admixture. Broken grains are deemed to be admixture then requiring a cleaning charge. That’s why we stopped growing it.

When no one else can come save you, you have to call a farmer 💪🏻 Jokes aside this tree across a road on my way to work took me half hour with a chainsaw to clear. Allowing every other driver to get to their destination. No thanks needed but was nice a few said so👌🏻🌬️ #StormDaragh

I've been out all morning clearing roads blocked with trees, helping stranded drivers and towing cars from snowdrifts. In Northumberland off the A68 This is what rural people do on the winter they help strangers, they don't ask payment..it was my diesel, £75 quids worth, my ropes, my PSE, my chainsaw, my modified 4x4, my snow tyres, my forest hooks, my saw petrol (£20) my chain oil, my blades and my time. We don't expect thanks and we don't ask for money. All my farmer neighbours have been out neglecting their livestock to check people are OK first. They now have a long day in the cold caring for sheep and cattle. Tell me @Keir_Starmer @RachelReevesMP @SteveReedMP @Ed_Miliband what's the weather like in Islington today? A bit wet and windy no doubt. This is what rural communities do in the winter. We look after strangers when they get into trouble, we keep the roads clear and motorists safe and we don't ask payment. I wonder how many of my farmer neighbours caught up in your schemes are wondering if they'll still have a job in 5 years time? But then as you clearly don't care about our community what's it to you? @ClarksonsFarm1 @JeremyClarkson @TVKev @andrejpwalker @virtualash @RoryStewartUK @AllisonPearson @KemiBadenoch @Nigel_Farage My MP is @JoeMorrisMP who's party broke their promise.

The frustration people are expressing today is that what you say you’re trying to do is stop wealthy investors exploiting a tax allowance while protecting family farms. Your proposal does the opposite. Someone buying up a nice house and 80 acres to let out then walk their dogs will still avoid tax on £2m per couple. The big boys with £10s of millions will be able to afford to give most of it away without damaging their lifestyles. The people your proposal catches are family farmers who can’t give it away because they need the income to live off, or too elderly to trust they have 7 years. The folk who work all the hours god sends to put food on our tables, at a shocking rate of return. The proposal you have drafted does not do what you say it will, and if you had bothered to ask DEFRA before writing the budget they could have told you that. Now you have wrapped yourself in political knots defending a bloody stupid policy that attacks the people you should be protecting, and protects the people you should be taxing. Announce that you will consult on this policy. Make a few tweaks here and there. Fix the shortcomings that mean everyone needs to get tax advice to get anywhere near this £3m exemption you keep talking about. If you had engaged with people who know the industry and how these rules work, there wouldn’t be thousands of people in Westminster who have much better things to do on a wet Tuesday. Listen, consult, improve. If the grown ups are in charge then prove it.

@SteveReedMP The above message is just wrong simple as that. By a review of our clients between 75% and 80% of farming businesses are affected . These are all family farms that produce the food that you eat . #StoptheFamilyFarmTax

An excellent letter by Sir James Dyson. Well worth reading, many valid points, and we in our ‘farming’ bubble need to remember that it’s all businesses that IHT applies too, & is equally unaffordable to many of them.
