I still think one of my favorite career highlights was being part of the first three employees for the company I worked at, which opened a gaming arena in an iconic Vegas hotel. It was a crazy year, tons of planning for the grand opening, sleeping in the arena instead of a hotel room to make sure we had everything set up when the doors opened. It was a great experience. The company easily shaped my high agency view on things and gets shit done no matter what, figured it out, work ethic. @AlliedEsports espn.com/gaming/story/_…

@TheShadowRaptor @HPotterUniverse It’s not too dark. It’s dark yes but it’s about the same as what it was like in order of the phoenix. You can perfectly see what’s happening in the scenes. People are just mad because it doesn’t look like the first movie

Someone brightened a couple of still shots from the Harry Potter TV series trailer. Look how much better it looks with some brightness and color!

If your employee is surprised by their annual review, you have failed them. It is a manager’s duty to deliver critical feedback promptly, clearly, and regularly to their reports. This is simple, but it is not easy.

Dear @dunkindonuts, You need to have a conversation with your California franchisees. Large straws should not go with medium or small iced coffees. They need to learn from the pros in New England.

@TPV_John You know they've done this before without a draft right?

Wild: Pat McAfee DESTROYED Dan Orlovsky live on ESPN for saying Ty Simpson is a better QB than Fernando Mendoza. "So the college football playoffs don't mean anything? This is why people are saying you are getting paid to say this." 💀💀💀
Dov Kleiman@NFL_DovKleiman

Insane: Dan Orlovsky says that Ty Simpson is the best QB in the draft class over Fernando Mendoza... “I think Ty Simpson is QB1. I think Ty Simpson is the best quarterback in this class.” 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Applied for the @beehiiv MCP this morning. Got approved same day. This connects your newsletter directly to Claude. No more copy-pasting analytics. Your AI reads your subscriber data, engagement metrics, and publication performance natively. We're relaunching The Current, a weekly newsletter on the creator economy, building real creator businesses, and what we're learning from running a 300+ creator network. Phase 1 is read-only. Phase 2 adds write access — drafting and scheduling directly from Claude. If you run a newsletter on beehiiv, apply for MCP access. This changes everything.
beehiiv 🐝@beehiiv

beehiiv has always been the platform for serious creators and publishers now, it plugs directly into the AI tools they already use introducing the beehiiv MCP ✨

@john15489 @XaviercMiller @KMike323 There was only one really major drop on viewership from 90s to now and that was 2002-2003 when there was a big network shift. Outside of that viewership has stayed flat until this year where there is a big increase Y/Y

I said 2 years ago the NBA will be irrelevant in America within 15 years. People laughed. But this is how it starts. First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines. You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.

@XaviercMiller @KMike323 But the long term trend is neither increasing nor decreasing. It's actually flat Y/Y. With this season being up largely Y/Y. So if you wanna talk about trends it's actually been pretty flat with a spike this year.

@Arsnault @KMike323 Viewership being up a season doesn’t contradict long term trends. And the bankruptcy actually supports the point, those regional sports networks struggled because the model itself is weakening due to cord cutting. That’s why this is more structural than temporary.

@XaviercMiller @KMike323 Eh, short term is wrong here. Viewership is up which goes against what youre saying. Also local inventory is not positive because the company who had the rights for majority of local markets went bankrupt if I remember correctly.

@KMike323 Short-term viewership increases don’t contradict declining long-term interest. Local media revenue declining is a bigger structural issue than one season’s ratings bump. Both can be true at the same time.
