A few years ago, I visited a rape crisis centre, to find out more about the work that they do to help survivors. It was an amazing place, run by some really dedicated women. But when I was there they said something that at the time really shocked me. They told me that they don’t advise women and girls who have been raped or sexually assaulted to go to court. Obviously they’ll support them if they do decide that they want to pursue a criminal case. But they don’t specifically advise them to do so. I was really surprised. Why wouldn’t you want to get justice for these awful crimes? So I asked them why. And they told me – look – the court process is really traumatic. You could wait years. You could be victim blamed in court. You could be re-traumatised. And then after all that… you might not get justice at the end of it. They might get off. They told me that knowing all that…they can’t hand on heart tell victims that putting your faith in the British justice system is necessarily the right thing to do. I got it then, I understood it. It’s pretty depressing, though, isn’t it? Because the result is victims not getting justice… and rapists…well… it means rapists getting away with it, doesn’t it? Today on the show we’re taking a long hard look at how the justice system is dealing with sexual violence. A new report by the Criminal Bar Association shows survivors of rape and sexual assault are among those waiting the longest for their cases to be heard – leading to PTSD and suicidal thoughts. It takes on average TWO YEARS to get a trial from the point of charge… and some of course are having to wait even longer. So the Home Secretary pushed for more security for Taylor Swift days after she was a guest of Universal Music at a Swift gig. And we didn’t know until tonight There is some frustration in the home office that the Parliamentary standards office said the tickets couldn’t be declared because they were below £300 - each ticket £170 Ed Balls took 4 tickets - and Cooper was his guest

Sky News can reveal Home Secretary Yvette Cooper went for free to a Taylor Swift concert as guest of Swift’s music label Universal Music. Ms Cooper went as a guest of her huband, Ed Balls who was given four tickets. That came after the home secretary had discussions about boosting protection for Ms Swift when she was in London after concerts were cancelled in Vienna because of a foiled attack Mr Balls was offered the tickets on August 4, before the Swift's shows in Vienna were cancelled for a show on August 16 This has not appeared in the public register to date because the tickets were understood to be worth £170 - less than the £300 that would make it a declarable expense. Earlier today the home secretary made the declaration to the cabinet office.

@mrmarksteel @taffygeek An arrow quite difficult to track, it's usually moving at 200kph over a distance of 70 metres (yes I'm an archery nerd). The Men's final was amazing 6mm separated Gold and Silver in a 1 arrow shoot out.
