how would you even roast Paul McCartney like oh man you smoke a ton of weed and you’re super talented and everybody loves you
Variety@Variety

EXCLUSIVE: #PaulMcCartney declined the hot seat at this year’s live roast on Netflix before the streamer turned to Kevin Hart: “We did ask Paul McCartney at one point,” comedian Jeff Ross, the “Roastmaster General” and executive producer of the franchise, confirmed to Variety. “To me, that would be a fantasy roast. Paul McCartney doesn’t need anything, but a Paul McCartney roast would be good for the world. It would be so funny to me because he is so loved.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lHfZe

This guy is using the left hand lane , which is open. There is a mile long backup and everyone is over in the right hand lane. He drives all the way up until he has to merge. Some people are saying what a jerk he is for not getting in line like everyone else, but a great many people are saying that the cars in the right lane merged into one lane too soon and that if they had used the left lane, instead of being a mile backup it would have been a half a mile backup. What’s your take? Do you think he was correct in using the left lane and merging up at the front or should he have merged right and got in line way in the back like everyone else?

When we talk about Die Hard, we rarely mention the electric dynamic between Paul Gleason (born OTD) and Reginald VelJohnson. It’s classic competence vs bureaucracy, which makes the Powell/McClane bond even stronger. Gleason was the perfect foil in Die Hard, a top-tier movie jerk

I’m not the biggest Ken Griffin fan from the GameStop saga days. But I’d love for him to give Zohran a big fuck you and pull his construction plans and pull the hundreds of millions he pays in taxes and charity. NYC officials are hilarious. All they do is say they hate rich peole and then beg them to stay and pay for all their useless shit. There was zero reason for Zohran to antagonize Griffin except to appease his yellow and purple haired communist base. He could have still initiated the tax without trying to be Mr Cool Guy Communist and rubbing people’s faces in it. Why would any rich person stay there? NYC wanted a communist mayor. They got a communist mayor.
Negligible Capital@negligible_cap

Ken Griffin is “appalled” that Zohran used his $238m Manhattan penthouse in his tax the rich promotional video Citadel is now apparently considering bailing on their construction plans to build a new office in Midtown. The project would involve $6 billion in spending and would create 15k permanent jobs in NYC according to Citadel’s COO "It is shameful that he used Ken's name as the example of those who supposedly aren't carrying their fair share of the burdens associated with New York City's often costly and wasteful spending," the email said. "In doing so, the mayor has once again manifested the ignorance and disdain of the elite political class towards those who have been consistently committed to building one of the greatest cities in the world." Would be both incredibly petty but also hilarious if Citadel backed out of their plans over this

Virginia tonight proved one thing: When Democrats can’t win fairly, they change the rules. That’s not democracy. That’s a power grab. Shameful.

This is insane… The Virginia redistricting amendment on the ballot today is framed as a vote to "restore fairness in the upcoming elections." In reality, it turns a state that Kamala barely won by 5 pts from 6D-5R to 10D-1R.

Let's talk about dental insurance for a minute. Medicare doesn't cover dental, which is completely insane. I can go in for a medical procedure tomorrow that costs $120,000, and they'll cover it, but they don't cover a tooth extraction? That aside, I looked into private insurance for dental. They wanted $33 a month, with a $35 down payment, and then a $150 deductible for $1,000 in coverage a year. So that means they want me to pay them $500 a year for $1,000 in coverage. I mean, that's completely insane. You can't get any serious dental work done for $1,000! Why would anyone in their right mind do that?

@sunnyright A counter punch isn't morally equivalent to a sucker punch. The best way to ban gerrymandering nationally is to make republicans fear it. Glad Dems are finally fighting back.

Democracy is when 51% vote to strip away political representation from the 49%, keeping the latter in a perpetual state of servitude to the former with no power to change it. Which is why the distinction between democracy and republic is not merely pedantic.

Non-residents who spend millions of dollars on NYC apartments help drive NYC’s economy. Most of the profit in condominium development is in the penthouses. The Ken Griffins of the world make NYC high end development viable, driving high-paying construction, brokerage, legal, marketing, and other jobs in NYC. We should be applauding Ken for spending $238 million in NYC, not attacking him for doing so. Importantly, non-resident owners of NYC apartments who leave their apartments vacant for much of the year are not a burden to NYC schools, services, or other resources while they drive growth in retail sales, restaurants, theater, and other important drivers of our economy. They also often support NYC non-profits with donations. Ken’s company is a major employer in NYC of very high paying jobs which drive a considerable amount of our tax base. We wouldn’t want him to move even more employees to Miami. These non-resident owners also already pay a lot of taxes including mansion taxes, real estate taxes, sales taxes and more. While @NYCMayor Mamdani likes the tag line ‘Tax the rich.’ Unfortunately, his policies will harm the constituencies he is supposedly trying to help. I can’t imagine the NYC construction unions are excited about his plan.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor
