The truth comes out. Biden’s Stasi who claimed to be saving “our sacred democracy” in fact worked overtime to destroy it - all for power. They spied on Catholic churches, prosecuted pro-lifers, deployed the FBI against parents at school board meetings - and tried to tap the phones of their political enemies. Including mine. This is an abuse of power beyond Watergate, beyond J. Edgar Hoover, one that directly strikes at the Constitution, the separation of powers, and the First Amendment. We need a full investigation of all involved: who knew about it, who ordered it, and who approved it. Anyone and everyone who violated the law must be prosecuted. The way to save the country is to restore the rule of law.

You raise good points above. Lots of questions indeed. Worth contact and debriefs with Ahmedinejad? Yes. Why not. But installing him as the next Iranian leader? Oof. No, says most anyone smart on Iran I know. Of note, Mossad historically has very capable world class Iran experts, that’s why this is so surprising. Maybe it just comes down to – hubris? That’s cryptonite to many an intel organization. Mossad had a phenomenal string of ops successes – mesmerizing even- and perhaps then wildly overreached on this one? If true, a stain on Barnea’s legacy? We shall see. More on this coming in the Israeli press as well…..

Was Ahmadinejad a person of interest for some foreign intelligence agencies given his falling out with the #Iran regime leadership? Yes that’s plausible. But was he truly considered the lynchpin of an Israeli regime change strategy? I have my doubts. Ahmadinejad was alienated from the regime’s military and security apparatus, and defections from that group would be critical for a regime change operation. It’s so cartoonish that it raises questions.

More details emerge, wild story, mind blowing actually ….. lots of thoughts on this, including on tradecraft (yikes), but fundamentally, sometimes it’s best not to recruit those even who appear susceptible to recruitment. Suitability is cornerstone of HUMINT. Was he really - given his background - a legit future leader? (Hint-I’d think most Iran experts say No).
