Introduction to Tezos❗️ @tezos is a pioneering blockchain platform that distinguishes itself through its capacity to self-amend and evolve via on-chain governance. Launched in 2018 by @ArthurB and Kathleen Breitman. Tezos addresses core challenges in blockchain scalability and governance by enabling seamless protocol upgrades without the need for hard forks. - - - - - At its heart, Tezos is a decentralised network that supports smart contracts and decentralised applications (dApps). It utilises Liquid Proof-of-Stake (LPoS), an energy-efficient consensus mechanism. Whereby holders of its native token, Tez (XTZ), can stake their tokens to secure the network and participate in governance. As of July 2025, approximately 977 million XTZ are in circulation, with a supply that increases by around 4.5% per year through validator rewards. Tezos is unique in its community-led governance model, where stakeholders propose and vote on protocol upgrades. This ensures the platform evolves in a decentralised and democratic manner. Meet @ArthurB, Co-founder of Tezos, at #WebX2025 on August 25–26, 2025. Arthur Breitman, the co-founder of Tezos, is a computer scientist and entrepreneur. He has a background in mathematics and computer science. Before starting the Tezos project, Arthur worked in quantitative finance at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley and as a research engineer at Google and Waymo. He graduated from École Polytechnique and the Courant Institute of NYU, where he studied applied mathematics. Arthur is a member of the Tezos Foundation Council and a director at Trilitech, a London-based adoption team for the Tezos blockchain. For more details, visit webx-asia.com
