With the support of @JapanGov, @WHO responded to malaria outbreak in flood-affected areas by conducting indoor residual spraying in 7 high endemic districts of Sindh andBalochistan.

Through @JapanGov’s vital support, @WHO provided basic and emergency obstetric and neonatal care equipment to 143 labour rooms, 36 C-section facilities, 9 Kangaroo mother care centres and 16 neonatal ICUs in the flood-affected districts.

"We are grateful for the generous support of @JapanGov in rebuilding together health infrastructure and enhancing capacity of health workers in the flood-affected districts of Pakistan," said Dr Luo, Dapeng - WHO Representative in Pakistan.

#WHO has donated equipment worth 20 million PKR to Department of Health, Balochistan to respond to the outbreak of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis. WHO Rep in Pakistan, Dr Mahipala also inaugurated the WHO supported Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Centre at Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta.

“WHO will support Department of Health, Balochistan for the development of long-term strategic plan on Integrated Disease Surveillance (IDSR) and Response system,” remarked WHO Rep in Pakistan, Dr Palitha Mahipala in a meeting with the Secretary Health Balochistan, Asfandyar Khan

Dr Mahipala also committed to support the provincial reforms agenda on strengthening comprehensive primary health care services delivery in Balochistan.
